IRGC Test-Fires Anti-Armor Missiles

IRGC today test-fired Tondar and Tousan anti-armor missiles during the Great Prophet 8 exercises. During the test, IRGC's T72S tanks and BMP2 personnel carriers fired Tondar and Tousan missiles respectively at designated targets while its air defense units repelled the hypothetical enemy's air support. (Fars News Agency, 25 February)

Tondar anti-armor missiles can hit targets in a distance of four kilometers and Tousan at 4.5 km away, Fars reported. The report could not be independently verified.

The bottom photo doesn't show a "BMP2" (by that do you mean BMP-2?) or a T-72S. The top inset in the bottom photo is of a Sarir 4x4 cross-country APC (also called "Tala'eeyeh") and the bottom inset photo is of a Hoveizeh ultra light tracked armored vehicle.

So now maybe we ought to have a picture of Pinocchio next to our "Uskowi on Iran" logo like what Jabbar did for Iranian media's coverage of the Zafar AShM? {{ kidding }}

Thanks. The insert photo, originally credited to IRNA, was removed.

the tanks are extremely effective when employed against civilian protesters petitioning for free and fair elections

USKOWI!- what do you mean by "the report could not be independently verified"-ARE YOU TURNING yourself to another Guardian and SPACE war news?

If you believe reports from the media, especially considering their performance in the past 30 days, need not be independently verified, then you might be indeed living in space.

These copies of 1970- 1980 era Soviet Tanks do not have a chance against the Apache Helicopters and A10 air crafts. I am sure Mark is aware of this fact.

The laughable part about these tanks is that Iran had better tanks in the 1970s.Even in the 1970s the T72 T55 was considered inferior to Western counterparts like the M60,Leopard and Chieftain tanks. The ex-Soviet tanks are considered cramped and worst of all, death traps.
As for now the M1A,new Leopard A5,Challenger 2 tanks will make mince meat out of those 1950s/1960s era tanks that the "mighty Islamic" theocracy is operating.

I suggest that you check with the Zionists about their "happy experience" with Hezbollah KORNETS and SAGGERS in 2006. LOL. and quit posting delusional mince meat horse puckey.

@Anon 7:00...So are you suggesting the US or Israel haven't got anti tank missiles of their own?
If the Israeli tanks which are the most heavily protected didn't fair well against the missiles then what chance have those pieces of 1950/1960s era junk could?
You forget Iran hasn't the modern air power that is required to defend those assets on the ground. The Iranian air power will not last more than two weeks at best if faced with an determined foe such as the US.Then after that the US/NATO rule the ski above Iran while picking at target rich areas like those pieces of junk mentioned.
You should quite thinking in such a kinder garden mentality because of a few Soviet era tanks on parade.
Enjoy your "delusional mince meat horse puckey" !

Do you have anything to show (evidence) for your empty Phrase?
Post something to support your hot air. I refer to the links of the Apache and A10 again.
