These are what have been briefly stated, described and written in the latest book of the former U.S. CIA Middle East Specialist Agent; The Devil We Know: Dealing with the new iranian superpower.

Iran’s top commander has dismissed as “bluster” the Israeli war threats against Iran, adding that the US will not attack Iran either for fear of the Islamic Republic’s military prowess.

“We have complete confidence in the capabilities of our country’s Armed Forces, and not only can we protect Iran, but also the entire region,” the Iranian commander added.

Nice slideshow. Any idea what the make of these trucks are? http://bigstory.ap.org/photo/mideast-iran-army-day-1 Are they foreign-made or indigenous?

Regarding the IRIAF Su-24MK fitted with Sakhalyn UPAZ-1A. The UPAZ-1A is a hose and drogue air-to-air refuelling system carried in a pod by Iranian Su-24MKs and allows them to refuel other, IRIAF aircraft in flight.

Regarding the IRIAA AB-206B Jet Ranger II utility helicopters. Those used by the IRIAA are actually AB 206B1 JetRangers. They are an optimised military sub-variant of the AB 206B JetRanger II. They include features of the United States Army's OH-58A Kiowa, scout helicopter. In the past, they have each been fitted with a General Electric GAU-2B/A 7.62mm Minigun, mounted on a flexible Emerson "Mini-Tat" mounting bellow the fuselage. In Iranian service, they have mainly been used in the liaison role.

The IRIAA also acquired another sub-variant of the AB 206 JetRanger, the AB 206A JetRanger which was also, mainly used in the liaison role.

What a great professional military and all kudos for keeping the Persian Cats and other aircraft in upgraded and pristine condition. Most international aviation sources now list all of Iran's 60 plus F-14A as operational along with 24 Mirage F1-EQ. A testament to the genius of Iranian technicians, engineers and superb pilots. LONG LIVE IRAN.

Anonymous said...

Where is Qaher 313? You think they will bring it out on a day like this, especially after the controversy caused by the photoshoped image of it.

Anonymous said...

Interesting to note that the Mirage F1-EQ are both in air superiority and typical IRIAF ground attack displaced pattern camouflage. Another noteworthy picture is the digital camo on some of the EW and radar trucks. Iranians are are masters of maintaining and upgrading equipment. A new minesweeper is also about to be launched.

Anonymous said...

Western sources, after initial descriptions that the Qaher is only a paper wish, acknowledged that the Qaher 313's abilities include posibilities to fight enemy choppers at low altitudes...

Regarding the parade, it doesn't show top and secret achievements of the Islamic Republic.

Why the commanders and generals such as Jafari and Y.R.Safawi, were not present at the parade?.

the silly soul doesn't seem to know that he's looking at a handful of 40 year old American-made airplanes that are the best aircraft possessed by the toothless Iranian air force and not capable of challenging modern warplanes.

Anonymous said...

New; numerous, long distance armed drones, will soon patrol the skies of Iran and greatly increase and supplement Iran's air defences...

They will wait on predators' anticipated routes, during the nights...

Can you name those "Western sources"?

Anonymous said...

No he can't because he knows it to be bull :o)

Anonymous said...

Same as yours and Paul Iddon's, alCIAda and hasbara!

Anonymous said...

ask Paul Iddon!

Anonymous said...

"the silly soul" Anonymous 5:03 PM doesn't know that he's also looking at aircraft that are not American and are less than 40 years old! Typical ignorance of Iran-hating zionists.

Anonymous said...

Why dont you disprove it.

Anonymous said...

I'm asking you because you're the one that claim those "Western sources".

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:45 AM....Over 90% of Iran's aircraft were purchased before 1979 and are of US origin.Having a few F5 clones and a handful of SU24 SU25 Mig29 and Mirage F1 doesn't make it less dependent on US made equipment. You have the classic case of someone suffering from inferiority complex when told the truth.

Anonymous said...

You're the one that claimed "aviation sources now listed all Iran's 60 plus F14A as operational".
So prove it.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1:06 PM, you have a classic case of trying to change the subject, a known tactic of the hasbara (trolls, shills paid to post propaganda for the apartheid zionist state). You claimed that the aircraft shown here are 40 year old American-made aeroplanes, as if they all are. The fact is, not all of them are.

Anonymous said...

Your ignorance and juvenile anti-Iran rants not withstanding, according to Grummman and later British sources and the book IRIAF 2010 The Modern Iranian Airforce by Tom Cooper and Babak Taghvaee, IRIAF received 79 F-14A Persian Cats and barely 8 were lost due to war and attrition. That leaves well over 70 airframes left in pristine condition. Iran has been successfully upgrading and refurbishing them since the 90's. IRIAF also holds the world highest combat kills by superbly deploying the Persian Cat in highly skilled Iranian hands. Iranian pilots made aviation history as Major, later Lt. General Jalal Zandi (RIP) holds the world's fighter ace record on the F-14A Persian Cat while Major and later Brigadier General Abbas Dowran (another great IRIAF ace RIP) on the F-4E.

Anon 6:17---- your point is piddling and the claim that it's opposed by hasbarists is stupid, baseless bullspit.

Anonymous said...

The problem is they are 40 year old American planes purchased during the reign of the Shah. The Russian and French planes are even older models. So where are those super duper advanced stealth fighter planes then? Please tell me.
And by the way I do this for charity.

Anonymous said...

Silly morons. F-15, F-16 and even F-18 hornet are all 1970's vintage. Douglas DC 3 Dakota is still flying after 70 years. Anyone with even with a decent 7th grade education would know that as long as the airframe is intact and has no metal fatigue, the avionics, weapons systems and engines can be upgraded. How do think the 1950's B-52 are the prime USAF nuclear strike bomber? You anti-Iran idiots really need to turn-off FOX news.

Anonymous said...

he's probably talking about this: http://aviationintel.com/2013/02/06/my-message-to-the-west-concerning-irans-f-313-fighter-arrogance-can-get-you-killed/

Truth is the Qaher wouldn't be displayed as this is an Artesh parade... Though the Irgc probably doesn't have as much sway in the aviation industries. It probably still has its eyes on the possible uses the fighter would have in the persian gulf... The iranian military forces seem to be lacking funds a little..

Anonymous said...

Well-said, Anonymous 9:21 PM. The silly morons seem to be oblivious to the fact that Iran's Russian and French aeroplanes shown in this article, are not "even older". They were actually acquired a lot more recently than 40 years ago.

ANON: silly soul!...

we all know just like you do that what we see is some 40 year old American planes in the hands of the Iranian military!-and i may buy your argument that these planes an not stand a chance against modern variants from your superpower!-

@but seriously speaking ,IRANIANS are more proud and confident handling 'inferior weapons of their making and designing' you have to dig in to know what really worries the pentagon about these 'inferior tools in the hands of a former empire'!.

@ and you introduce the u.s.a as though it is a land inhabited by aliens !YOU GO to hell with your damn thing superpower ! now was it a United States of Aggression or the opposite?

I have that book by Tom Cooper and I know Iran under the Shah purchased 80 F14 Tomcats of which 79 were delivered. But you still haven't proven to me that Iran under this corrupt regime has 60 operational F14 Tomcats. So where are those claimed "Western sources"?

Anonymous said...

Convince yourselves that a handful of 1970s vintage planes can stop a 21st century air power. These airframes are gone beyond their expiry date. The F18 F16 are more advanced and newer versions of the 1970s designs.Iran's versions are basically the same airframes and avionics of the 1970s and are a danger to their pilots as reported today when one of those old F5s broke up.
You Sandist Khors need a dose of reality.

Ignorant idiot and resident moron. The F-FE that unfortunately crashed was probably due to engine flame-out and that is not unusual. IRIAF despite flying older planes has one of the best safety records in the world, compared to the US rednecks and Indian airforces, both of which are ranked as the worst. US jets crash regularly including the $1 Billion B1 and stealth planes. India has crashed over 200 planes in the last 10 years, mostly MIG-21, Mirages and Jaguars.

Apr 5, 2012 – According to statistical data available from multiple aviation sources the Indian Air Force (IAF) has the dubious distinction of having the highest crash rate followed closely by the USAF, Naval and Marine Corps aviation. US tends to lose about a 3 aircraft a month while India holds the world record in crashes with over 200 fatalities in the last decade. US war losses in Iraq and Afghanistan are not included in the analysis.

Iranian pilots are very nationalistic and brave and tend to try to save the planes rather than eject. During the jange tahmili Iranian flyers would bring in literally flaming jets rather than eject over Iraq or be captured. The new generation of Iranian combat pilots try to do everything to conserve a plane and only eject in very rare cases. Iran's total post war crashes or planes losses have been less than 20, despite flying over 300 US built models that have had no manufacturers spares since 1979. Iranian pilots sacrifice their lives as not to crash into populated areas and this also impacts on the ejection time. Now suck on that FACT you retarded anti-Iran creeps.

Anonymous said...

The reason it has an "best safety records" is because they posses a small airforce and limit the amount of flights due to old age of airframes and engines.Seems like the "Ignorant idiot and resent moron" is you after all.

Why don't you give yourself a brake and stop having a nervous breakdown? Your hatred will kill you in the end.So relax :o)

Its irans ballistic missile forces that will be inflicting the damage on your 21st century airforces, its pretty hard to lunch airstrikes if your runways are cratered and strewn with unexploded submunitions and your 21st century planes are left trapped in their shelters waiting to be finished off by iranian land attack cruise missiles or air launched precision guided weapons from iranian f4s or su24s,make no mistake iran has some of the most formidable striking power in the middle east only a fool would not recognize this fact

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:55..Rubbish.Most of those airstrikes will be launched from aircraft carriers which will be located in the Indian Ocean. And not only that you seem to have the childish notion that Iran is the only ones with missiles. The US navy has over fifty nuclear subs armed with conventional and nuclear warheads which if used can turn any country into glass. You have zero idea how a 21st century navy operates in defense or when they decide to attack enemy installations.Make no mistake the US has some of the most formidable striking power in the world let alone in the middle east.Only a fool or a Sandist Khor would not recognize this fact.

AnonymousApril 21, 2013 at 11:46 AM: In other words, Iran's Russian and French aeroplanes shown in this article, are not "even older". They were actually acquired a lot more recently than 40 years ago.

Trying to wage an air war purely from carriers would impose a lot of serious operational constraints on the attackers, for a start the carriers would have to be a minimum of 300km from the coast to avoid irans antiship weapons, they could only attack iran from the direction of the indian ocean so the iranians could easily see them coming and reaching targets in the north would probably be beyond the range of the carrier borne aircraft without air to air refueling and the tankers would be easy prey for irans f14s or sams, the us is not going to be able to wage a prolonged air war with just carriers, indeed in the event of any us aggression one of the first targets of iranian retaliation would be the carrier group in bahrain,it would face the unenviable choice of having to run the gauntlet of iranian weapons in the straits or stay bottled up in bahrain a sitting duck for irans antiship weapons.submarines and long range missiles
