KLM: Out of Iran - After 65 Years!

KLM announced today that it will cancel all flights to Iran in April 2013. KLM started its service to Tehran 65 years ago. The New York Times correspondent in Tehran Thomas Erdbrink has tweeted the image of KLM advertisement that appeared in October 6, 1953 issue of the Times promoting the airliner's New York-Tehran service.

In a time when the airline industry is struggling to get by as it is, they limit their market shares in order to please the senseless political agenda of the EU(read Germany)and the USA. When the political landscape changes - which it will - these shortsighted policies will prove very costly for their shareholders.

Good ridance, they just come to Iran to try to get our nuclear secrets and military secrets now they cannot do so.

What type of nonsensical reply is that?

Don't blame the "Zionists"for the regimes incompetence to run a country.

How sad to see some of these commentators come on this forum and splash their bigoted hatred against a race of people, and at the same time pretend to be concerned for Iran and Iranians.
So it's true after all,the Islamic regime in occupied Iran has thirty thousand paid stooges to spy on Iranians and publish their nonsense over the net.
The result is the garbage you see here on Uskowi.

Give the guy a break. He is only performing his daily duty to receive the daily $25 he was promised if he could spread the claptrap propagated by the IRGC intelligence unit.
People like them will receive their just rewards when the page turns :)

I fail to see how not opposing the actions of the Islamic Republic on every single account makes people like me 'payed stooges'. The most rabid and slanderous statement on this blog are usually directed towards those of us who refuse to simplify matters to the point of absurdity - blaming problems either on the Theocracy or the Zionists.

Perhaps the intolerance present in the Iran of today goes deeper than political affiliation and is more a testimony of cultural immaturity than anything else.

There are 30000 paid stooges of the regime to spy and write their dross on internet sites.
If you think that is "cultural immaturity" then you have failed to grasp the reality of the situation.
No one can be an island in the middle of the mess that the country is in.If people think that they are, then the regime will stay a little longer.Because they bank on people for being indifferent.
The problems that Iran is in today is because of the theocracy, because they are the ones that are in power and holding the countries jugular vain with a knife.

There are also payed stooges posting on behalf of the MKO, Jundullah and Al-Ahwaz terrorist groups. Which of these stooge-categories do you fall under?

...or we could grow up and debate issues without personal attacks.

some twit claims that withdrawing from Iran is something that is done because KLM is only in Iran to " get our nuclear secrets and military secrets now they cannot do so" and then cries about not having an adult debate of issies????

hilarious bullspit and self-pitying stupidity.
