Iran Talks Lausanne

Iran nuclear talks enter their critical endgame on Sunday in Lausanne, the Swiss French-speaking city on Lake Geneva. Secretary of State John Kerry and his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif will hold talks as the 31 March deadline looms.

After a decade of impasse, 18 months of serious talks and two missed deadlines, Iran and the world powers aim to reach a framework agreement by the end of this month. The full accord is hoped to be reached by 1 July.

To be frank, the talks that cumulated in the Paris and Tehran Agreements shouldn't be considered within a "decade of impasse." Serious talks only started during the second term of the Obama Administration.

Let's hope they conclude an agreement!

Agreed. I was referring to the period when Ahmadinejad was running wild in Tehran. Not expected to come to an agreement with Bush during his (Ahmadinejad's) first three years; but then he squandered chances for another five years when Obama was in the White House. With the victory of Rouhani, for the first time the administrations in both Tehran and Washington wanted to reach an accord. And here we are!
