The lies the regime tried to tell the poor Iranian people are so sad. They've even taken a piece of crap f5, and painted it in the U.S.'s f18 blue angel scheme, to try and subtly lie to their population about its capabilities ("loook dees is like de ef 18 of the usa see kolor is de sayme."). How pathetic.

Why does this culture so totally embrace self delusion?

of course we see a lot of lies in These Pictures
the planes are totaly crap and junk and lies
however for example
The French Mirage are flying without any Support or spare parts from Producer that is a great technical achievment

All Anons and authors, who don't like the Islamic Republic of Iran
Don't delude yourself that the Islamic Republic will be overtaken by the West.

There will be a time during your lifetime, you will see the most modern jetfighters flown by the IRAF....
They will be licensed or demestically built, and create good jobs for the young Iranian population.

Citizens wouldn't need to go for work somwhere else, and do odd jobs or "clean foreign restrooms", and some of them after coming back to pretend, that they are "aristocrates"....

To get where you wish for there are some provisions required that non of them currently exists in Iran.
first you need a strong economy with multi billion dollars investment.
Lack of developed technologies even for car manufacturing which still struggle to manufacture some parts.
Lack of materials of construction. Iran only produces minimal varieties of steel or other alloys.
Highest level of brain drain in the world.
Lack of equal opportunities
Iran's corruption ranking133 amount 174 countries noting even Saudi is 80th most corrupted country.
this seems like a wishful thinking.

Without exposure and access to western technology IRI will never be able to build a fully functioning jet fighter in par with likes of F-35 and F-22. No country is an island – in terms of technology. Even a country like China remains dependent on reliable Russian jet engines and advanced radars for its fighter aircrafts.

What sofar was done by the Islamic Republic, in cruel conditions of the economical aggression, nullifies any shortcomings and complaints in that situation.
You have to apply different standards for your judgment in order to be fair.

Any economical recovery in the IRI, given that the aggressions stop, will outpace any economical recoveries in the world history..........
In the present situation, the Islamic Republic properly invests in its biggest treasure, which is an investmentin a high education of its young generations.

I know how the economical transformations to the the western standards work.
At first all kind of crooks with inside information, buy the most profitable branches of economy for peanuts, then the foreign investors buy production companies and turn their production space mostly into the warehouses for products of foreign companies, and under pretexts of restructuring, they downsize employment, and people have to look for employment in ................other countries, or try alcohol and drugs to get "high" (with a short welfare help), in order to wait hard times over.

As long as the stinky mullahs are in control those wishful thoughts of yours will remain just that.

The top four aircraft in IRIAF are:

1. F-14 The most dominant aircraft in the air during the Iran-Iraq war. It excelled in beyond visual range interception because of its advanced/powerful radar and AIM-54 missile. Also there are pictures which shows that the cockpit have been fitted with MFD displays in-place of the analog instrumentation. That's a clear indication of some sort of modernization. They could have taken out the old radar and put in its place something from the Su-30, for example.

2. Mig-29A (export version). It's the most capable dog-fighter in IRIAF thanks to superb agility, but simple short-ranged radar makes it very vulnerable if spotted and engaged at long distances by modern jet fighters. Rumours say that they have recieved improvements, but no proof exists.

3. F-4E The workhorse, able to carry four times as much payload as the WW2 B-17 bomber! It has poor agility therefor it doesn't fair well at close-in chases. Original radar is weak against todays potential adversaries placing it at the same level of risk as the Mig-29A, unless major upgrades have been made to its search and detection systems. One thing is for sure, it has definitely been upgraded with the ability to carry various kinds of Chinese anti-ship missiles...putting it on par with or even exceeding the late version Mirage F.1s.

4. Mirage F.1 EQ 1/2/5/6 (The last two versions can fire the AM.39 Exocet of which Iran aquired a few and have since reverse engineered them...they are also quick/responsive fighters at close range...early models had a bad look down/shoot down system and inadequate missiles while later models could carry the Super530 missles and thus were improved to the point of being able to match the F-4E armed with AIM-7E missiles).

Meanwhile, in the U.S fat run country, bankruptcy and defeat in afghanista, Iraq, etc.. does not hurt anyone, everybody's happy, willing to go to war again and enjoying the achievments of their first class army (with no victory unlike Russia in Georgia, but first class anyway) Let's see ho is delusional here! ;-)

For those who spend 500 illiards / yea and lose in Afganistan, Iraq, Somalia, akistan,, etc... Keep your ciriticism and try to learn from your chinese and russian friends ;)

I should have stated that the list was done in no particular order. Overall i consider the F-4E to be the most versatile asset in the IRIAF inventory. It's a multipurpose/all weather/fighter-bomber able to conduct many differrent missions. It's like combining the capabilites of several kinds of aircraft in one platform. A correction - the F4E can carry twice as much payload as the B-17 Heavy bomber, in bundles of three, which none of the other aircraft can do.

The Anon at 4:52 PM and others

First, there is no chance for a military takever of the Islamic Republic without world war,....and attempts to undermaine the Islamic system from inside will not match time expectations by the West....

Meantime, where the Chino- American or/and Russian American tension may escalate, caused but not limited to territorial disputes, present status quo will be changed.
Russia and China may look for military allies, and share their technologies with them....

Currently Russia has been working on a development of their T-50, which will compete with its performances with the western F-22 and the F-35.
So far they have manufactured 5 flying prototypes, in addition to 2 manufactured for the static tests, and those airplanes have flown over 400 hours, so far.
Russia is also plannining to fly its first 20 tons UCAV in the 2018.

Russia has invited India to participate in the design and financing of that T-50, so the Islamic Republic may also be invited to that projects, if Russia would be forced to face emerging adverse international conditions for her.

Transfer of Russian technologies and advanced military cooperation may also be prompted by Iranian consent to a temporary nuclear deal (several year suspension and limitations in nuclaear research and enrichment activities), which will give the Russia excuse to demand that the western missile shield's deployment has no justification, due to the Iranian acceptance of a "deal".
That fact will provide Russia with an opportunity to fulfill its military promises to the Islamic Republic at the same time..........

In the worst case scenario, both countries may have additional time to complete their military modernizations and developments, and Russia can be relieved from her adherence to the UN sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic should the West reject any "sane" compromise.

If the west was so powerful gurney then why did it sit down at the table and agree to a deal that was the exact opposite of the wests stated aims of zero enrichment, why didnt it just attack iran?,perhaps its because the west isnt as strong nor iran as weak as you want to believe
