But new buildings under construction is not a sign of economic growth, how about where Iran would be in 20 years time?, standard of living? or employment rates? ...etc. Dont forget Irans inflation and growth rate is horrendous.
Am not the usual reader on this site who constantly finds fault with Irans and unfairly blames Iran for everything, but Irans economic policies are really bad, both under Ahmadinejad and Rouhani, though the latter is better.
One practical solution; make the 80% privatization a real 80% privatization. Rouhanis on it, but needs to accelerate it fast.
Much as you want to dismiss these I would say it's a sign of economic growth. Let's compare Iran with when Iraq was under sanction, I believe the difference will become clear and the message of these images becomes obvious.
I am not saying that the government of Iran have done everything right no, they still have a lot to improve on but just like every average government at least they are trying especially on the HDI which says a lot for a nation under severe economic sanctions incomparable to any in the anal of human history.
There is no "economic growth" going on in Iran,period.

You didnt bring any arguments of why its a sign of growth. If they were private company buildings then there could be an argument to be made. All this means Iran is spending its resources more on these projects.
Imagine if a country spent 50% of its GDP on its airlines and tourism, itll have one of the best airlines and tourist attraction sites in the world, and you and Mark would probably post pictures of the planes and sites and say "look at the economic growth" but completely ignoring the fact that the majority of the population have low living standards.
I second that. I think we are all sort of tired of this half finished "shopping centers". Show me once a new factory being build that has some real life use and is financed by private sector. I have never seen any postings of that type. Show me a picture of Science Park or similar!
