Iran Criticizes Turkey for Requesting NATO Missiles against Syria

Iran criticized Turkey today for requesting that NATO supply it with Patriot surface-to-air missiles to deploy along the border with Syria. Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani, on a visit to Lebanon, denounced the Turkish request as counterproductive.

“The internal crisis in Syria cannot be solved through the deployment of such weapons,” Larijani said at a news conference in Beirut. Larijani had arrived at the Lebanese capital after holding a meeting with Syrian President Bashar as-Assad in Damascus. (AP, 23 November)
NATO said Wednesday it will consider Turkey’s request “without delay.”

General Hajizadeh mentioned in the past that Turkish radar for the misille shied may be targeted in a case of war against the IRI.

Anon 11:19---- The request from Turkey is not designed to be part of an effort to encircle Russia.....

but it's good if Russia worries that it might be...

it'll give Russia more reason for reticence in re-supplying weaponry to Assad

I would like to add to your comment that it is naive to assume by anybody; that Russia will let to happen, that a western oriented government will be installed in Iran.

Anonymous 7:49 PM. No, of course not. It's just a sheer coincidence that America has established bases and its armed forces around Russia and is going ahead with its plans to deploy anti-missile systems with them! What a coincidence.
