US Will Continue Using Drones

US Air Force Chief of Staff General Norton Schwartz said today the Air Force now understands what caused the crash of one of its unmanned spy drones over Iran in December and continues to use that type of drone to provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) data to military commanders [Reuters, 13 January].

Gen. Schwartz did not disclose the cause of the drone crash over Iran. The plane lost in Iran was on a mission for the CIA.

The drone on display in Iranian TV hardly looked like a "crashed" drone. Iranians somehow managed to land it in their own territory.

The previous comments is correct about the use of the word "crash". From the pictures we saw, there certainly was no sign of a crash. The word "crash" is also used for software programs that suddenly stop working and so we can assume that this is what the US guys will record in their log !

I just found out that the the US has over 6000 drones in operation and the data captured keeps some 40,000 people in 16 or 17 different US spy agencies busy around the clock !
