Panetta Cautions Against Unilateral Israeli Attack on Iran

US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said today Iran is laying the groundwork for making nuclear weapons someday, but is not yet building a bomb and called for continued diplomatic and economic pressure to persuade Tehran not to take that step [AP, 8 January].

Panetta, making the comments on CBS' Face the Nation, also cautioned against a unilateral strike by Israel against Iran's nuclear facilities, saying the action could trigger Iranian retaliation against US forces in the region.

“We have common cause here (with Israel)," he said. "And the better approach is for us to work together.’ [AP, 8 January].

NOW WE KNOW BETTER!

1-having made the International body to issue an alarmist report that was political, this US official is coming down to the reallity that IRAN DOES NOT COMMAND ATOMIC WEAPONS!. fact one:this makes MR AMANO a criminal and guilty of political sway!--fact two:this admission effectively throws IRAN into the truthful side of the nuclear dispute and hence makes the sanctions unjustified!

2-when you caution and say that 'IRAN CAN MAKE A RETALIATION against the US forces,' THIS is admiting capabilities on IRAN'S part-fact one: if this is true then the IRANIAN leaders are not when they say the military can defend the Nation against invaders fact two:"continued diplomatic and economic presure to persuade Tehran not to take that step" THIS PROVES SOMETHING -IRAN SHALL BE NATO'S WATERLOO!!
