PBS Frontline: Nuclear Power after the Fukushima accident (and Iran)

By Mark Pyruz

Watch Nuclear Aftershocks on PBS. See more from FRONTLINE.

After watching the Program, I came away believing Iran's decision (and other's) to pursue nuclear power makes perfect sense for the 21st century. You be the judge.

the only way for iran to get out of this situation is to become pro-american; that is the bottom line; a compromise on the nuclear issue will be possible only after that; the nuclear issue is not the main issue; the main issue is that Iran has to drop its antiamericanism in REALITY: to get back in a strategic situation like befor the revolution; for me that is a good thing; but the IRGC must be convinced (or bought) to endorse the new situation ...

The sovereign nation of Iran is a pride to its own people. Iran, as a superpower and the most powerful nation in the whole region of the Middle East, along with its psychological warfare campaigns and smart moves, has successfully kept those Zionist's master, its allies and slaves just right at bay for 33 long years.

The proud nation of Iran will not bow to the wills of the well-known, the so-called U.S.'s policies and doctrines of merely evils and bullies across the globe or by the least, to become pro-american which is against its own will.

Iran, the only muslim state in the world that stands and walks tall on its own feet and is fully free from being the Zionist/U.S.'s cowards, slaves, puppets, fool playing tools, dumb lackeys and bullied nations(What shame nations!).

Those genuine iranians do believe in neither human nor superpower but instead of believing themselves, the only 'thing' they do really and fully believe in is no other than the ultimate 'Creator' and of course, that's what makes them stronger and stronger each passing day. There is no one out there who could ever change the brain of the 'Lion of Persia'.

This regime can't be trusted with nuclear weapons even if it is pro- American.
Nuclear weapons won't save regime from peoples wrath.

No Iran not only needn't become pro-American, itt shouldn't become pro-American.

Iran has a right to its own foreign policy and views.

The present conflict is over whether Iran will be allowed nuclear weapons

The "Lion of Persia" was removed by that charlatan Khomeini when he seized power in Iran.
I like how some non Iranian stooges of the Islamic fascist theocracy support and praise them to no end,how pathetic.

Iran should agree to stop enriching uranium for some time; this would actually disarm the antiiranian narrative and help to calm the situation; iran should have much more pragmatic look at this issue; otherwise it will be drawn into a conflict it cant not controll; there is no need for this; but the question is whether the regime can act rationally and see the situation clearly...

in the current situation is enriching uranium not a sign of strenght anymore; it has become a trap that Iran has got itself into; it should stop and get out of the situation

Iran will do what is best for Iranian national interest and not the dictat of a bankrupt Zionist led US police state.

If any nation in human history had more right to nukes it is Iran. Just look at the map and see how even failed states around it have nukes. US/EU/Zionist barking will have ZERO impact on Iranian policy. GET OVER IT.

Iran has already enriched more uranium to ~20% than it can use, for peaceful purposes, in 15 years.
Yet Iran is telling the world that it is increasing enrichment.
