Mashhad International Financial Center, under construction

Photos taken ten days ago depicting latter stages of construction for Mashhad International Financial Center (MIFC). MIFC encompasses four interconnected buildings, including Iran stock market halls, conference halls, financial and administrative services, restaurants, computer and communication facilities, residential units, retail spaces, gym, swimming pool and underground parking.

Two tower cranes work the construction site

Where we used to see the previous administration tout construction and infrastructure projects, particularly at IRNA, the Rouhani administration appears to do the opposite with regards to Iran's economic indicators.

Seemingly gone are the days of an Iranian president turning up at a massive public housing construction site, aboard the IRIAF Bell 212 Twin Two-Twelve VIP rotary wing aircraft.

Construction imagery now appears more the domain of municipal blogging efforts, and interested, ordinary citizens.
