Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has arrived in Vienna today to lead Iranian negotiating team in the last meeting with P5+1 before Monday’s expiration of the interim agreement JPOA.

Meantime, Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in London today and will meet Omani Foreign Minister Alawi who paid a surprising visit to Tehran on Saturday and held talks with Zarif and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The State Department said Alawi will provide Kerry a readout of his trip to Tehran. Kerry will travel to Vienna to join the negotiations later this week.

UPDATE I: Iran/P5+1 talks started in Vienna. The State Department said that an Iran/United States bilateral meeting at deputy-ministerial level as well as expert-level talks also took place today in Vienna

UPDATE II: Secretary of State John Kerry has pushed back his trip to Vienna where P5+1 and Iranian negotiators are in final talks before Monday’s expiration of interim nuclear agreement, the JPOA. Kerry was scheduled to be in Vienna on Wednesday, but State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said Kerry will now travel to Vienna “later in the week,” adding that the exact day had not yet been set.
