Iran Holds West Responsible for Nuclear Talk Failure - Shamkhani

Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, chairman of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said today that the West would be responsible for potential failure of nuclear talks.

“Iran’s nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 serve as a test of these countries’ honesty to see how committed they are to the path of negotiations and removal of all the illegal and cruel sanctions,” Shamkhani said, referring to UN Security Council and additional U.S. and EU imposed sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program. “We will show proper reaction and take due action appropriate to the attitude and performance shown by the opposite side,” he added. (Fars New Agency, 25 January)

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif told reporters in Tehran that if the United States wants to reach an agreement with Iran, it should atop the “dangerous game of pressuring Iran”

Iran and P5+1 will face a 1 July deadline to reach a final agreement.

In Israel, former IDF Intelligence chief Amos Yadlin, and a Labor candidate for defense minister in the upcoming elections, criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to speak before the U.S. Congress in March without coordinating his visit with Obama administration. Yaldin said Iran “will be stopped by action, not speeches.” (Jerusalem Post, 25 January)

Iran cant have nuclear weapons, period. World community shall keep up pressure on Iran. Either Iran submits to a full unrestricted inspection regime or face harsh consequences. Irans supreme leader Khamenei has several times publicly declared his objective of destroying the Israeli state. That is the new madman of middle east, since Saddam is no more. Israeli air force second best after US air force can without trouble take care of Irans nuclear weapons programme. Just we need green light from our friends.

So basically more of the same verbal diarrhoea from the occupiers of Iran. These people will never learn that it's the economy that matters to 75 million Iranians and not some few kilo of enriched uranium dust. "Economy is for donkey's", comes to mind.

As long as Zionists and AIPAC run US and now with a Republican hostile Congress, any chance of even a weak accord is less than ZERO and always was. Iran only has two options either completely capitulate or go nuclear and let the chips fall where they may, like the DPRK. I believe the only real option for Iran has always been to test a nuclear weapon and secure immortality. Considering the strategic and political mess in the region, the US is in no position to start a swan song war against Iran that would simply ignite a global conflagration.

Your isreal should submit to inspections and to an obedience of the international treaties and resolutions, before it could have any rights to question others.

And since when do the Israel governement need greenlighting from anyçone when they decide people must die or infrastructure must crumble somewhere around their neighborhood ? I wonder why Iran constitutes the single exception where the Israelis never actually dare walk the walk despite constant empty talk of a unilateral strike from their prime minister warning of taking matters into his own hands for the last... 10 years now ! Indeed a big mouth relentlessly making empty threats and ordering his air force to scramble fighter squadrons every one or two years to scare people off... maybe Iran's demonstrated progress in air defense and retaliatory ballistic capability is the red light that the IDF has been facing for a few years already ;-) Oh, and "Eretz Yisrael" as an account name ? you gotta be joking.

Israel could not stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. the Israeli air force is not able to do more than hinder and harass Iran.....unless Israel is willing to use nuclear weapons pre-emptively......and the US will damn sure not allow that.

Iran tries to test a nuclear weapon and Iran will be attacked by the USA.

that's not an option that iran can live with, and no other nation is going to fight with Iran against the US. that is utterly specious propaganda.

Iran doesn't have a national ally willing and able to fight with them other than the Assad dictatorship.

not one.

Getting a few FACTS right about Iran may help for starters. Iran's population passed 80 million last year.

A nuclear power with nuclear weapons can not be "attacked" by anyone including the US. PERIOD.

Alright then. One of the most important "few FACTS" are that the economy matters to 80 million Iranians and not some few kilo of enriched uranium dust. Which makes the situation even worse for those 80 million Iranians by the occupiers of Iran zamin. Happy now?

The soviet union was a nuclear power but it still was defeated because of its economic weakness.
One of the reasons for the downfall of the islamic regime would be due to its economic weakness.
