Iran Helicopter Pilot Training Center

Iranian media publicized 31DEC14 opening ceremony of Iran’s first civilian helicopter pilot training center at the Kurdan branch of Iran’s Helicopter Aviation Company.

Following are photo IDs for helicopter types in attendance:

Note: These Iranian operated Robinson R44 helicopters received quite a bit of attention at the recent Kish International Air Show, where mainstream media sources touted Iran's flouting of economic sanctions in acquiring these helicopters of American origin.

Very proud of our women that are involved with all types of challenging jobs. That's what make us different than our nationalities in the region and West knows that. Bye the way I heard about 40% of NASA engineers and scientists are Iranian and many others in other industrial sectors. I always proud to be an Iranian and make sure all people around me to know that.

I have often heard this "Iranians dominate NASA" statistic a lot from Iranians, almost always in Los Angeles. Generally these rumors start with someone calling one of the local Persian language radio stations with such claims, then it spreads quickly.
Another version is that back when NASA launched Apollo an unusally large percentage of their Engineers were Iranian.
Abolghassem Ghaffari was the first Iranian in NASA and the only Iranian to work on Apollo, somehow this rumor has even spread to Iran by Iranian going there and telling their relatives on trips, and is now even being written about there.
