Iran Budget Under Pressure - Ahmadinejad

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said today in Tehran that the sanctions have caused pressure on the country’s budget.

“Right now in terms of the budget we are under pressure,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech on Tuesday. “In many places the budget has become zero or has been cut by 25 percent,” he added. (ISNA, 9 October)

The Iranian president did not offer any details on programs whose budget has been so drastically cut or eliminated altogether.

Don't even try to compare an oil based economy like Iran to the EU and US.
You seemed to have forgotten what happened last week in Iran, when the worthless rial hit 37000 per Dollar.
We now know that will be the beginning of the breaking point of the Iranian people which will very soon sweep the regime away.

donot comparare, oil based economy like Iran to the EU and US

but anyway debt is debt,
US has 16,0000 Bill debt, Iran has worthless rial and only little foreign debt.
only Saudi Arabia and Russia are better than iran

If we consider the immense problems of sanction in last years, I would say Ahmadi Nejad Government ist not working too bad.

The US and EU have dept, that's part of capitalism. But Iran's economy has fallen to pieces and is bankrupt with near hyperinflation and mass unemployment.

Anon 4:46 PM,

Please read Wednesday's post on Ayatollah Khamenei's speech to see the serious consequences of the currency fiasco. It's not about 0.2 v. 0.3 percent deficit. It's about the entire economy.
