I took a similar M-B bus like that to high school when I studied in Tehran during the mid-'70s.

It is good to see such a stable democracy and a smooth and peaceful transfer of power. Ahmadinejad is a good decent man and a patriot. I am sure he will serve Iran in one capacity or another. Iran is one of the few countries in the world where ex-Presidents live long and peaceful lives.

In Egypt, Morsi was the head of state, like Khamenei in Iran. A bit different situation there. President in Iran is really a prime minister, the head of executive branch of the government; albeit an elected prime minister, but not the governing head of state (similar to having a governing king for life but an elected prime minister for four-year terms).

I was meaning that there was a working democracy and a smooth transition from one government to the next unlike in egypt,of course egypt has been a dictatorship for decades unlike iran

There is only one government in Iran and that is called valih-e-faqih.The rest is just bullshit.

The dictator has simply replaced "the idiot" with a new jester.

lets hope for peace, stability and prosperity for my Iran.

In your "stable democracy" who voted for the top turban the vali-e-faqih? And by the way according to your imam (khomeini) being a patriot is a sin. This regime serves only its self and only its self.

I'm afraid the shovel is not big enough nor the regime competent and honest enough to perform such a feat.

Yes and the jester is there to fool the gullible.

looks like Mahmoud may make a comeback in four years if things sour for Rohani

Ahmadinejad appointed to Expediency Council

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has appointed former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the Expediency Council.

In a decree on Monday, the Leader appointed Ahmadinejad to the council on the grounds of his “invaluable efforts” during his two terms of presidency.

In a meeting with Ahmadinejad and the administration’s cabinet members on July 14, the leader praised their efforts.

“Some even deny the administration’s concrete actions, but what matters is that the efforts and attempts be expressed and recorded in the country’s public scene,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.

Ahmadinejad was replaced by Iran’s new president Hassan Rohani who was endorsed by Ayatollah Khamenei on Saturday. He took the oath of office on Sunday at Majlis.

Rohani won the June 14 presidential election with 50.7 percent of a total of 36, 704, 156 ballots. Voter turnout in the election was 72.7 percent.

That is a useless body that he sends all the "has beens" to. That is why he has kept Rafsanjani as its head, so don't get your hopes up.
