China Offers Billion-Euro Loan for Iran

China has offered a loan of one billion euros (1.2 billion dollars) to fund projects in Tehran, Iran’s Fars News Agency reported today.

“The one-billion-euro Chinese funding is materializing,” said Hossein Mohammad Pourzarandi, a senior official at Tehran municipality. “The loan would be used for several construction projects in Tehran, including road networks,” he added [Fars News Agency, 30 May].

In recent years, China has emerged as Iran’s main trading partner, and has increasingly replaced Western firms leaving Iran.

In the new multi-polar Asia centric world, Iran's alignment with China is good for both. China has also been a dependable ally and good source of technology transfer. Considering how unstable Pakistan and Afghanistan are, Iran offers the most stable route for all transportation and energy hubs. Upgrading Iranian infrastructure is good for the region and China. The Port of Chah Bahar should be designated as a major transhipment point for Chinese and Central Asian goods into the Persian Gulf and Middle-Eastern region.

The jury is still out on the dependability of China as a partner. Reminds me of the Kremlin spokesman the other day saying Russia was neither pro-US or pro-Iran, but pro-Russia. China remains an ally of Iran only if it helps its own national interests, and will drop Iran in a matter of a second if such move enhances its own national interests elsewhere. The Iranian invested heavily in their "special relationship" with Russia in the past twenty years or so, and did not get far. They have to be careful of China's new coziness as well.

the reality is iran for 31 years do not depend to any forces to hold them up that dependencey has brock by iranian leader in 1970 but it doest not wrong to have ecconomy business with other world in fair way if china has this way wilcome to this form of business if is not the iranian government is strong enough to take them out as iran did to russian worning so in this world every one need each other as long as do not other nation to make others as slave fair business is must for any country ecconomy.

iran's energy reserves are huge and China loves having a perceived access to such resources.CLoser to wholesale because there are few competitors(bcos of sanctions),so China is getting dealing in Iran.Iran is just too versatile to be ignored and the west will end up negotiating many things with Iran if peace and prosperity is to happen all over the ME.

Chinas Commintment to North Korea is evident enough for their reliability

They immediately saw through the fact that the South Korean Ship was sunk by a CIA black op, just to get the Japs to agree on the Okinawa base.

It was actually a Blackmail adressed at the Japs, if we are to go, we leave it as a war zone.
