I presume that the Qader is the Iranian version of the Chinese C-803:

The Shah's "military" was completely built, operated and run by westerners and when they left Iran was unable to make the weapons needed to defend itself. The current Iranian military is seeking self sufficiency, apparently.

Javad jan,

one can't re-invent the wheel....

everything is a bettered reverse engineering of something else.

important is... it is being done, instead of paying money for silly war toys.

Dariush London

Anonymous said...

Dariush......are these not war toys....and are they not costing money....and are they not costing more money to build a plant and to manufacture these toys than it would cost simply to buy some of them....and are these toys not copies of 20 year old designs ?

The Shah's military was operated by westerners ?
We had some of the equipment helped by western experts what's the harm in that? The weapons were new and we needed training, so get real. Stop your false propaganda there was a lot of Iranian engineers which operated the weapons, were you there?
Anyway Grumman help set up training school in Isfahan to train technicians as well as Northrop.
So you and "Dariush" jan don't know what your talking about your government has filled you with so much propaganda saying that if it wasn't for revolution Iran will still be importing 100 per cent. LOADS OF RUBBISH!
Iran imports weapons from China then Iran labels them Made in Iran
that is to cover those sneaky Chinese or they are simply assembled and labeled.
The old tanks the T55 T72 are old relics of the early 1950s and 1960s the air force is 35 yeas out of date no matter what you do to it as well as the Navy.
The truth of the matter is that even Qatar or UAE has a far better Air Force and military equipment than Iran as for Saudi they are light years ahead!
I hate to say these things but they are true no thanks to Islamic regime lie and false propaganda with their apologists.
And those silly war toys that the Shah bought is still being used today and into the future as long as this stupid regime remains.

If one take politics out and stay with facts then the situation becomes a lot clearer and the discussion becomes more relevant. The facts are Iraq and Crazy Saddam Attacked Iran, Iranian military soon learned that the logistics of weapons and parts for any duration of war means the survival of the military and the country. The need to buy weapons off black Market when Iraq was buying openly from both Eastern and Western Powers taught an important lesson: In this world Any respectable nation needs to depend on its own resources when in a fight fr its survival. It's certainly important to make friends among the nations of the world, but you should never depend on them. Creating local military industrial infrastructure is an important policy no matter who runs Iran. Politicians come and go, but these infrastructures can become life line for a nation at war, especially when defending itself.

an army of westerners i think about 40 thousand or more helping running your military is not "whats wrong with that"

we can see the same policies in iran during the shas time as saudi and gulf arab countries have had, their militaries would crumble aswell without those same western technicians, ofcourse they trained some technicians just like in saudi thats limited to the older equipment because as more and newer equipment is bought the cycle carries on

people who try to find any escuse to slack of the current progress should get this out of their system

Those 40000 were not all military Mr propaganda. You were not there so you know nothing but what your fed by the stupid regime.
40OOO included their families wife and children majority were civilians working for Grumman Northrop General Motors and all major US firms.
Iran needed them to help us to understand and manage the technology and develop our skills if you don't understand that then that's your problem because churning out your false propaganda wont stick to people in the know.
People like you should thank him that the military equipment he purchased saved the hypercritical regimes asses so that you come and type your false propaganda here.

A nuclear reactor which is 32 years behind schedule and still counting.

Airplanes that fall out of the sky and are so old and unreliable that people travel with Turkish airlines.

The fuel we use in our cars is so toxic that people are falling ill and have to stay indoors fearing for their health.

And you call that progress?
Say some more fairy stories so that we could go to sleep.

All those IRGC "generals"never attended officer training school.
They must have been some sabzi furoosh but because they obeyed the mullah's tantrums and pointed straight ahead to capture a hill and ordered kids to go over mines they earned their tinfoil stars.
In fact if you put them all together they wouldn't amount to a real corporal in the regular army.

Spot on. The so called "Chief of staff" the basiji Firuzabadi would have not made the "abdarchi" of the armed forces, yet because of his a.. licking ability he is holding the now seremonial post of "Chief of staff!

well done Iran, keep going.
The more you build by yourself the more wet pants in some of the neoconservative circles you get.
Don't worry about some individual here pretending to be more than a singular mind, being paid to insult Iran.

A true Iranian would always find ways to help Iran to prosper.
I salute those in the US who risk prison and injustice for helping their fatherland Iran achieve defensive greatness.

Nahid / Hamburg

Nahid
I salut you too if you either go back to Iran to help the Mullahs or get into the prison in Germany by helping the Mullahs to achieve "Greatness" !

Looks like Iran wants to sue Russia over breach of contract regarding S300 missile system.
I'm just wondering with all this advances this government is talking about why can't they build it themselves.
After all didn't they parade a mockup in 2010 claiming it was real it's really embarrassing and borders on the pathetic.
Maybe if the Russians sell the damn things to them they can label it Made in IR.IRAN like they do to the Chinese weapons.
Anyway I don't think Iran will be given S300 despite Iran wanting to take Russia to court.
Russia is a two timing ally can't be trusted is a historic and present enemy of Iran as for China they are no better they are just users.
So who's fault is this then?
I put the blame squarely on the present political system in Tehran which has isolated it self from it's people as well as the world.

Sue??????

How?????

Where?????

To what end???? specific performance? quite a laugh.

Iran complaining about the Russians is pretty funny considering that the Russians were invading and subverting Iran from 1941 on and iran turned to the US for protection from Stalin.

Anonymous said...

Anon 2:58 AM

That's right the US did tell Stalin's forces to leave north east Iran tell that to some of commentators on this blog.
Anyway they want to take Russia to court regarding the S300 system by claiming it's for "defence" purposes only. I doubt if they want the deposit back but Russia wont sell the system to them.

IF YOU THOUGHT THE IRANIAN ARMS ARE INFERIOR TOYS, ASK THE US'COMMANDERS IN IRAQ!!!!

Dear BlackmanAdam

I've noticed a few of your posts recently in regards to Iran.

You must realize that Iran is one thing and the regime another a bit like oil and water they just don't mix.

The majority of Iranian people want to see the back of this regime although there are some misguided Iranians who claim are the majority but in truth they are the absolute minority.

These people who claim they are the majority are in fact members of the regime families or paid agents of the state who work on blogs to subvert freedom seeking activities with their state sponsored propaganda.

This state sponsored propaganda is also aimed at foreign observers of Iran who have no clue as to what Iran is about the history mostly before Islam.
In fact Islam borrowed mostly about 90 per cent from old Iranian culture before Islam. The 90 per cent which was borrowed are things like science and technology and the manners and behaviour.

Unfortunately Iran adopted the 10 per cent of the invaders side a backward mentality.A mentality which is ingrained in our so called religious leaders and their followers the minority of Iranians.

This is the tip of the iceberg and haven't the time to explain in more detail I hope you understand the situation and not fall for propaganda like Soviet Union in Russia or Nazi Germany the rest is up to you and I will no longer explain the true state of Iran from an Iranian to a foreigner who refuses to believe the truth and believe in state propaganda.

Goodbye my friend.

BlackMan Adam,

You seem to becoming a serious pain in the a** in this forum. I suggest that you go back to Zanzibar and talk about Islam from there. You silly/childish remarks have no place in this forum.

to my Brother "I have noticed a few of your comments"

FIRST i respect you as a brother and more importantly as a citizen of a country I deeply cherish. A Nation whose people taught as religion here in east Africa[The Shirazi Muslims]your point is that Islam brought miseries to you!so you want you civilisation back from Islam!.let me ask- if ISLAM borrowed from you almost 90 per cent, then can you tell me where did you get this civilisation from?.wont you accept that your language, your civilisation is but a gift from our creator that was meant to benefit mankind? do you remember Salman ALFARSY ,HIS idea that saved Muslims and sanctioned by the prophet[pbuh]!so please be rational. thank you!!

I have seen in the past Pakistanis who call themselves Persians just because they happen to be Shia, Indians who call themselves Parsi and claim the Cyrus was their King who conquered Persia and now this blackman Adam who is trying to relate to Iran by way of Islam and all that nonsence.

Let me put you at rest Blackman. As much as you like Iran (because of perceived Islam etc), you take your babble somewhere else. I don't think many people in Iran give a tinker's fart to an African who admires Iran. At the end of the day you seem like a rootless person who is looking for some sort of identity. Go back to your roots and find solice somewhere else. You are making us sick with your silly remarks!

Right of reply to my -'name caller' "you are making us sick with your silly comments"....
Typical OF A MAN BROUGHT up in the up market suburbs of a city away from the realities of the world and lacking in him the simple codes that make one a morally upright being! by your talk i can guess your age.just who will teach you that this forum is for grown ups?-Now let me tell you how Africans can help your cause in liberating your country -come here in AFRICA AND CONVINCE US that the current regime is autocratic. We shall cut diplomatic relation with it,We shall enforce the sanctions, in short we will shun this regime!,this isolation[north Korea style] is enough to bring the regime down.BUT YOU ARE A MINORITY AND TRUTH IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE!!
