Saudi Arabia refutes airspace claim

According to the Israeli news source Haaretz Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf has denied that Saudi Arabia would or intend to give use of its airspace to Israel.

He has stated that it would be "illogical to allow the Israeli occupying force, with whom Saudi Arabia has no relations whatsoever, to use its land and airspace."

In regards to sanctions here is a very interesting analysis done regarding vote buying in the UN. Wonder why Bosnia who Iran helped during its troubles voted, or why Gabon, Uganda, Nigeria supported the fiat dollar here is the reason! See most of the NAM members have silver lined pockets :-)

I had posted the Saudi denial from various sources. This was another Zionist/Debka disinformation psy-op to sow discord in the Muslim world. The Saudis handled this very fast and properly. They are not that naive that they will take on the wrath of Iran and over 350 million Shia and perhaps a majority of the world's 2 billion Muslims by commiting such a disgusting policy of national suicide.

Saudis are very aware of their own vulnerabilities, particularly with the over 15% Shia population in oil rich eastern Asir province and the Zaidi pro-Iran Shia majority in Yemen, who recently gave the Saudi "armed forces" (a collection of third-world mercenaries from Pakistan, Egypt and Jordan with US/UK and French advisors) a sound drubbing in the Jabal al Dukhan mountaineous border regions. The lightly armed but highly motivated Zaidis captured eight Saudi villages in the poorly demarcated border areas and captured many mercenaries including two Saudi "generals" along with many tanks, APC and humvees. The Saudi response was the same old cowardly US/Zionist tactic of bombing Yemeni civilians with high-altitude air strikes causing massive civilian casualties.

The Saudis would not last a day against Iran if left to their own devices. The best option for them, considering their internal problems and military weakness is to keep a low profile and not antagonize Iran too much. US is a commuting war-monger in severe decline and will be gone from the region. Iran has been around for 3000 years and will remain so till eternity. The sheikhs in glass houses should be very careful.

Nigeria has an "interim" president who would love to contest the next presidential elections in 2011. If he does it'll be against a sizable percentage of the public who would prefer him to vacate the office. Recognition of his "victory" after the elections by the US would be a major benefit. Just speculating.

The Iranian president says the US and Israel are trying to drive a wedge between Iran and Saudi Arabia, a day after Riyadh denied claims it will allow Israel to use its airspace to attack Iran.

"Undoubtedly, the US and the Zionist regime are the enemies of Iran and Saudi Arabia, so they are trying to create a gap between Tehran and Riyadh," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday.

He made the remark in a meeting with Saudi Arabia's new ambassador to Tehran Mohammad bin Abbas al-Kalabi.

On Saturday, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a Foreign Ministry official as denying a report by The Times that Saudi Arabia had agreed to allow Israeli jets to use the kingdom's airspace for an aerial attack on Iranian nuclear sites.

The Iranian president further said, "The US and the Zionist regime will harm all the countries in the region [Middle East] if they get the chance."

Ahmadinejad called for unity between the two Muslim states and said, "If Iran and Saudi Arabia stand by each other in regional issues, the enemies do not dare do any act of aggression against Muslims in the world."

Israel has repeatedly threatened to bomb Iran's nuclear installations. Iran says it will a give a crushing response to any act of aggression against the country.
