Today in History

Iran's spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, died on 3 June 1989. Marking the occasion of the 21st anniversary of his death, Iran’s current supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, will deliver the Friday’s Prayer sermon at Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in Tehran. Some two million pilgrims are expected to arrive for various commemoration ceremonies taking place on Friday.
