Tehran Modern's Collection Valued at $2.5 Billion

A Painting by Pollack at $250 Million



Tehran Modern’s collection of mostly American and European paintings and sculptures has been valued at more than $2.5 billion, Fars News Agency reported. A work by Jackson Pollack, the influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement, is valued at $250 million, the most expensive piece at Modern. The collection represents a century of works, spanning from 1870 to 1979.

So in the end, after all the hatred towards the west, it's the American artists that make Tehran's Collection so valuable. What hypocrisy.
