Iran Offered New Incentives to Halt Enrichment

Major powers agreed today to offer Iran a new package of incentives to halt the country’s uranium enrichment activities.

“I am glad to say that we have got agreement on an offer that will be made to the government of Iran,” said British Foreign Secretary David Miliband [Reuters, 2 May].

The new incentives have not been disclosed yet.

We should be offering Iran everything, including the kitchen sink, because we know that they will not accept it. They want their nukes. We need to create a record of numerous, overly generous offers. That way, when they are finally on the cusp of creating their nukes, we will have every justification to unleash a torrent of airstrikes on them.

That's an important observation, joseph. However, I do believe that Russia,China and Germany are looking after resolving the issue through peacefl means. The ball will be in their courts now!
