It's ridiculous what election? All cheap propaganda by a unwanted and dying regime that has the support of eight percent of the population of Iran. And even within that eight per cent there is discord.
If anybody wants to know all the tiny minority of mozdors who support the theocracy look at this pictures.
'INTERIOR MIN. ANNOUNCES MASS PARTICIPATION IN MAJLIS VOTE'Fri Mar 2, 2012 10:33AM GMTIran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar says nationwide reports indicate a high voter turnout in the early hours of the country’s 9th Majlis (parliamentary) elections.Mohammad-Najjar said Friday that reports from across the country show that people appeared at polling stations in the early hours of the morning to cast their ballots. He said long lines of voters were formed outside polling stations even before the voting began.Polling stations opened for the 9th Majlis elections in Iran at 08:00 a.m. local time (0430 GMT) on Friday, and will continue until 06:00 p.m. (14:30 GMT). Over 48 million Iranians are eligible to vote in the Majlis elections. More than 3,450 candidates are competing for the 290 seats in the Iranian parliament. The lawmakers are elected for a term of four years.
Complete failure!Reports indicate that the turnout is very low.People have rightly ignored the "elections".But as everyone knows by now Fars news will cover up the farce.
Amazing turnout and once again confirms the popularlity of the stable Islamic democracy. Even western media acknowledge a 67% turnout and massive polling with many stations having to increase voting time. LONG LIVE IRI.
Anon 6:55 PMYou make a bad liar.
'MAJLIS VOTING TIME EXTENDED BY FIVE HOURS'Fri Mar 2, 2012 6:27PM GMTIran's election officials have extended voting time for the ninth parliamentary election, which was originally set for 18:00 local time, by five hours to 23:00, Press TV reports. The 9th Majlis (parliamentary) election since the 1979 Islamic Revolution officially started across the country at 08:00 local time on Friday, and was initially scheduled to continue until 18:00. The overwhelming popular turnout, however, prompted officials to extend the original voting time by five hours in three stages: first to 21:00 local time, then to 22:00, and finally to 23:00. Most provinces requested a voting time extension and more ballot paper with Kordestan province in west Iran among the provinces that requested more ballot paper. Over 48 million Iranian voters are eligible to cast their ballots with 3.9 million people casting their votes for the first time.
Anon 6:55 PMYou sound like a very desperate person trying to convince the majority that what you say is true but deep down you know to be false. Now go a receive your sandist.
mat no Iranian(except some traitors) believes in your propaganda and nonsense.
The practical reasons these people are standing in line is that the government can document their voting by stamping their birth certificate cards. The same cards are then used to give out government assistance, coupons etc.The people in Iran know how this government works so they stood in line to get their stamps. Those who don't need the government to survive stayed at home. What a sham!
