Iran Nuke: US-Russia Deal in Making

President Obama today said the US would scrap the plans to build a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe if Russia helped to stop Iran’s nuclear and nuclear weapon delivery programs.

“I know Russia opposes the planned configuration for missile defense in Europe. I have made it clear that this system is directed at preventing a potential attack from Iran and has nothing to do with Russia,” President Obama said in a speech in Moscow [Timesonline; 7 July 2009].

“If the threat from Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs is eliminated, the driving force for missile defense in Europe will be eliminated. That is in our mutual interest.”

The president’s remarks clearly links the missile defense shield with Iran’s nuclear program, putting tremendous pressure on Russia to work toward ending Iran’s uranium enrichment program.

why doesn't Russia scrap it's idea to build a nuclear missile shield in Syria since as Obama said Iran's nuclear program isn't really any of Russia's affairs

and why would Iran attack Europe anyway?
first of all they have no missiles that will reach there and second I think they'd be more interested in striking Israel, which already has every inch of its air space covered by missiles!

and thirdly Pakistan are confirmed to have over 60 nuclear warheads along with several Shaheen-II missiles which can hit a target 3,500 kilometres away, that Russia's densely populated ally India under serious threat!

And the US encouraged the Pakistani's to build those massive amounts of weapons, and we in Europe are supposed to be worried about a nuclear armed Iran!

Wow, Obama saying some of this stuff almost disgusts me:

“If the threat from Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs is eliminated, the driving force for missile defense in Europe will be eliminated. That is in our mutual interest.”

Ok,1st of all, as already said, Iran has little interest in sending missiles over into Poland/Russia, and As Russia already knows, Iran's missiles can't hit it, So Obama's statement there assumes that the Poland shield is critical to preventing a mirage(the iranian threat),and then he anchors the point by saying:hey, you help prevent those "missiles/nukes" in Iran, then we'll not build this shield that will defend against an imaginery threat. Obama is starting to play the same con games, but in a smarter way. Remember, he's still managing the Iraq and Afghanistan wars...
