Diplomatic Fallout From Storming the British Embassy

The diplomatic fallout from the storming and ransacking of the British embassy in Tehran continued today:

  • In an extremely rare diplomatic move, Britain ordered the expulsion of the entire diplomatic staff of the Iranian embassy in London and evacuated all of its own diplomats from Iran,
  • Norway announced that it has closed its embassy in Tehran,
  • France, Germany and the Netherlands all recalled their ambassadors from Iran,
  • Italy said it is considering to close its embassy in Tehran.

Let them leave and tell them never to return to Iran again...They won't be missed!

A bankrupt EU can enjoy and wallow in their economic mess..

Iran's got oil and gas and they're happy the way they are.

Give them two weeks and they'll be trying back channel way to establish relations again when the sh*t hits the fan(total collapse of the EU).

Meanwhile, the Swiss ambassador will become the punch-bag shuttling diplomacy for these states.

I'm glad Britain closed their Embassy in Tehran and the Iranian Embassy being closed in London. The good news is also that other Embassy's are following Britain's lead and pretty soon Iranian regime will be more isolated with no one left but a doomed Syrian regime. As for China they will abide by international laws and follow EU and America.Just watch this space it has just begun mark my words.

If you think China (and Russia which you neglect to mention) will follow the EU and America, then I have a bridge to sell you.

This is good news.

...really!

The financially (and morally) bankrupt British are insignificant today. Let us turn towards the east like in our glory days.

Those of you who criticize the Iranian regime for this latest incident know little of Iran's history. Somehow a several thousand year old phenomenon of bloody rivalry with expansionist western powers is blamed on a few decades old regime. Sigh!

This was action taken by Iranian students who where getting sick and tired of seeing the dignity of their country being dragged through the mud by some few centuries old countries who believe that, somehow, because of their technological superiority over other nations, they can dictate and do what they want. They've been assassinating and sabotaging Iran's progress yet have the nerve to claim international law when they're kicked out???

Majority of Iranians support this and this should be a warning to the other tag-along "allies" of the US-UK abusive alliance to think hard where their interest lies.

I may not like the Iranian government, but I won't stand for a 'has-been' country in Europe to subject my country to daily humiliation and ridicule.

The EU will soon be forgotten in their collective irrelevance..

Russia will do as its told or else we wont buy any gas from Russia.Russian banks have a reliance on American banks and trade.Russia doesn't want to sell even fire crackers to Iran for their defense. So much for Russia!
Except it. It's all over and curtains pretty soon!
So you can keep your bridge because you need it more than I do when the regime starts to sink below the depths of the deepest ocean!

AGAIN IRANIANS SHOWS THEY ARE AS IN THE PAST, ONLY AMONG THE GOOD FEED CROWDS THEY CHALLENGE TO FACE PEACEFULL PEOPLE INSTEAD OF BEING BRAVE WITH THOSE NATIONALS THAT ARE STEALING THEIR MONEY AND TAKING IT TO FOREIGN BANK ACCOUNTS.
CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE EAST!!

Britain and America control most of the financial banking in the world.
Live with it.
Regime will sink in the pit it came out from.
Get used to it.

Good for the Brits!
The Iranian government is acting like a spoiled, out of control, child with no understanding of intentional norms and the sanctity of foriegn embassies as sovereign territories.
As one diplomat once put it, it's like playing chess with a monkey.

Looks like you have a very narrow understanding of the world financial system because the British invented it and America adopted it. They together control it through their allies in the Western world Japan Asia South America and gulf countries UAE QATAR Saudi Arabia all interconnected. This also includes Russia and now China. They must abide by international laws and norms which unfortunately Iran under this primitive regime doesn't.
So to put it in a nut shell Iran will lose big time.Iran can't fight the West militarily nor economically it's lose lose lose all the way for Iran all because of the primitive and barbarous regime in Tehran the Iranian people will suffer.

Regime has bought this upon the Iranian people just like Hitler bought it upon the Germans and look what happened to the NAZIS.

I hope your satisfied.

Speaking of fallout -----is the wind blowing in from Isfahan?

Please don't insult monkeys !

Well said. This regime is a stain on the Iranian nation and needs to be removed if possible by the Iranian nation itself.

As one diplomat once put it, it's like playing chess with a monkey.

A word of warning: Chess was invented in Persia many years ago. Be very careful when trying to outplay the Iranians at their own game.

The mullahs are bad chess players which shows by their recent childish stunt outside the British embassy.

Why am I not surprised that the pro-establishment crowd is supporting the embassy storming and the closure of the Iranian embassy in London? Please answer these questions: If the embassy closures were in national interest of Iran, as evidenced by your happiness and the delight expressed here, then why did the government kept those embassies open in the first place? Why didn’t the government close its embassy in London years ago? Why did it have to wait for a mob of tugs to ransack the British embassy in Tehran for these so-called positive developments to happen? Ayatollah Khamenei could have ordered the withdrawal of the Iranian diplomats from London anytime he desired to. Why did he have to wait for the British Foreign Secretary to order it?

The expressed jubilation over the storming of the British embassy in Tehran and the closure of the embassies is at best a lack of understanding on how a major country and a regional power like Iran needs to behave at global stage and keep those diplomatic relationships. At worst, it represents a dark and dangerous trend in the Islamic Republic to score political gains internally at the expense of country’s foreign policy and its national interests.

You mean that the Iranian government could just have withdrawn the diplomatic contacts in a mature and dignified fashion?

They didn't have to go to all bother of using hired goons as if Iran is a nation bereft of civilization and dignity?

May I send my commiserations to the Iran air pilots for acting as surrogate dustmen and hauling back the so called diplomats to Tehran.

Nader,
I don't think the pro government comments are following any logic. I suspect that most if not all are the so called the "cyber basij" the regime promised to wage it's so called "cyber war" with the west.
As such, they're only doing their job, despite the indefensible actions of the regime. It must be hard to have a job like this; they have my sympathies.

Nader,

Because the regime is weakening and falling into fear. The Basij "rent a mob" is an emarrasment to the good Iranian people with dignity. How unfortunate this must be, unable to stand up to the regime and challenge them... Iranian men like idle children standing bye and waiting for their next command.

I don't find your statement amusing, but to answer your question, there is no fallout according to my friend who live there.

Chess was invented in North west India during Gupta empire. It was developed further and improved by the "old persians" during the Sassanids dynasty.
The Mullahs are at best, bad poker players, jeoperdizing the future of Iran.

how would your friend know?
was your friend right there and working on the project?

Diplomats leaving Iran by the droves, could it mean that the world has finally had it with this terrorist regime and will finally take out its nuclear ambitions?

No, my friend lived near the facility. He's one of the million residents living in the city Isfahan. If the fallout did indeed took place, he would inform me about it immediately.
