Ahmadinejad Warns of Arab-Iranian & Sunni-Shia Conflict

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday warned of a possible Iranian-Arab and Sunni-Shia conflict in the region.

"The U.S. and Western countries are trying to unleash an Iranian-Arab and Sunni-Shiite war," Ahmadinejad said.

Ahmadinejad also linked the looming conflict to US attempts to resolve Palestinian-Israeli conflict through creating an independent Palestinian state

"They are trying to prevent the overthrow of the Zionist regime (Israel) by creating differences among the regional peoples," Ahmadinejad said. “They say one Zionist government and one Palestinian government and this slogan is aimed at saving the defeated Zionist government,” he added [IRNA, 7 April].

Although the current US policy of recognizing an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel is rather old, but Ahmadinejad saw it as a new and “very sophisticated plot” to sow discord and portray a different US face among regional countries.

Why do you never list your sources?

IRNA is considered a source, isn't it?

The Problem of those Arab rulers who are rejected by own folk, try to blame Iran for shia-sunni conflict.
The Arab revolution is not a shia-sunni problem.

The Brits used the same tactic of using sectarian divide in their ex-colonies in the Muslim world and India to hang on to power in their empire heyday. The current US foreign/military policy is a mish-mash of AIPAC, Zionist agenda, Whitehall intrigues, military industrial complex and the global petro-multinations who profit from wars and instability. In other words it is an on-going disaster in the most volatile region of the world. US is fighting a losing war to maintain an unsustainable imported Zionist entity and maintain control over the regions OIL resources at a time its power is diminishing by the day as its OIL dependent economy falters and power shifts to Asia.

Unsustainable imperial wars are a sure-fire route to quick oblivion as most delusional empires have found to their dismay throughout history. The British as usual are the pompous lame-brains behind the suicidal US policies. Britain which now a tiny bankrupt island is trying to play the global game via US brawn and not much else. Blair the imbecile liar the got the village idiot Bush into the Iraq-AfPak quagmire and now David Cameron the new poodle is taking the US down the garden path in the Persian Gulf and the Maghreb.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may have his detractors but is an ultra-nationalist and is well versed in regional politics and the agenda of foreign powers that are meddling desperately in a region which is undergoing rapid economic, social and demographic change, with or without foreign meddling. The US and its Zionist proxy is on the losing side of history.

The corrupt Arab regimes that the US and its lackeys are trying to prop-up are literally on shifting sands and will not survive.

President Ahmadinejad isn't "warning" of a sectarian conflict to be fought by Iran's side, he is warning that external powers through their propped dictatorships are trying to use one to maintain their power in the region. There's a difference.

"The corrupt Arab regimes that the US and its lackeys are trying to prop-up are literally on shifting sands and will not survive."

True. They will fall, and be replaced by new corrupt regimes.

The IRI is just as corrupt as the Arab regimes.

Actually Dr.Ahmadinejad's speech at Kermanshah had some very candid and realistic points about the US/Zionist aims in stoking hostilities in the region and resurrecting the worn-out imperialist created Shia-Sunni aspect which in today's geo-strategic context is overrated.

'Hegemons seeking to incite Iran-Arab conflict to save Israel'

KERMANSHAH, April 8 (MNA) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said the United States and its Western allies are seeking to provoke Iran-Arab conflict and Shia-Sunni war with the aim of saving the Zionist regime.
“The main goal of the leaders of the U.S. in Bahrain and Libya is saving the Zionist regime, even if thousands of people are killed,” Ahmadinejad told a gathering of people in Kermanshah on Thursday.

“They are trying to incite Iran-Arab conflict and Shia-Sunni war in the region only to save the Zionist regime,” he said.

Ahmadinejad also warned about the hegemonistic powers’ plot aimed at settling the Palestine issue in favor of the Zionists.

Ahmadinejad again said the West is trying to break up Jordan in order to establish the Palestinian state.

“Because the defeated Zionist regime does not accept to retreat from the occupied territories and the Palestinians need territory to establish their government, hegemons plan to separate some parts of Jordan and give them to Palestinians so that they can establish their own government there,” he said.

Ahmadinejad said it is “a great treachery and conspiracy” and called on the regional nations and governments to be careful not to be deceived by the arrogant powers’ complicated plot.

“The regional countries should know if anyone helps the enemies to implement their plot in the region, the nations will regard him as an accomplice of the enemies and the person who has betrayed the region,” he explained.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the president pointed to Barack Obama’s message for Noruz (the Persian New Year), saying the message was an insult to the Iranian nation.

“Noruz is full of kindness, honesty, devotion and hope and is an invitation to peace, brotherhood, justice, monotheism, and tranquility. What is your (Obama’s) perception of these humane and divine characteristics?

“Undoubtedly, your message is an insult to the Iranian nation and you have again threatened the Iranian nation in this message and shown your ugly face which is hidden behind a mask of deception.”

He went on to say that the Iranian nation does not place the lowest value on the remarks and stances of the “puppets” of the Zionists.

“If anyone moves in the opposite path of friendship with the Iranian and regional nations, undoubtedly he will not be faced with a better fate than that of (the former Iraqi dictator) Saddam Hussein,” he said.

“You (the U.S. and other Western countries) are again mistaken because you have underestimated the intelligence of the regional nations. You should know that the Zionist regime has reached the end of the line and no one can save this regime,” he added.
