Obama: Syria Seeking Iran Assistance in Crackdown

President Barack Obama today accused his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad of seeking Iranian aid in the brutal crackdown of his own people. Syrian security forces today killed over 70 protesters.

"Instead of listening to their own people, President Assad is blaming outsiders while seeking Iranian assistance in repressing Syria's citizens through the same brutal tactics that have been used by his Iranian allies," Obama said. "We call on President Assad to change course now, and heed the calls of his own people," the president added. [AFP, 22 April].

Exactly what kind of assistance? I bet the batons are made in China or France, and the ammo is probably Russian. The firearms are likely Russian.

But the Iranians are always the go-to boogeyman, aren't they.

How predictable.

So how about the hundred million dollars of U.S. funds aimed at destabilizing Syria as cited in Wikileaks, Mr. Obama? Yeah, didn't think you'd mention that.

Yeah..When in doubt or pushed in a corner and have nothing else to say, blame it on Iran and it'll stick.Hey Obama, Try something else because that line's getting boring and doesn't work anymore.

Great!!So now Obama's become a mouthpiece and PR guy for the PGCC pimpdoms?
How much would anybody bet that he's not been paid to say this?

I'm still waiting to hear what he has to say about the Saudi's blatant broad-day-light invasion and meddling in Bahrain and Yemen.

Seems Obama has now officially been bought and paid for by these oil pimpdoms in the PGCC. Really, who can blame Obama for saying stuff like these. First of, he's got an election campaign to run and will need all the cash support he can get from these oil sheiks.

Honestly, i thought Obama was supposed to be the smart one but with the recent events in the region, he's turned to be just what he's - master of sound bites in an empty suit.Nothing more nothing less.

Unfortunately for Obama, the Arab street have seen through what he is and don't believe a word he says.

Under B. Obama's presidency the American Foreign Policy is worse than G. Bush. He is pursuing an open imperialistic policy. Wants occupation of Libya. Maintains absolute silence on Bahrain, because they already occupy her. The only obstacle for U.S. total Mid-East dominance is Iran and Syria. The Syrians should not pay any heed to what Obama says and at the same time they should not allow the situation to get out of hand because I feel then the U.S. would love to move the U.N.S.C. to impose sanctions on them.

He could bring in some thugs from Iran or Hezbollah, but Assad appears to have plenty of thugs of his own.

The question is whether the IRI may intervene without being asked if Assad seems to be about to fall. A change of regime in Syria would be a major inconvenience for the IRI.
