Update: PressTV is reporting the transiting of the two IRIN ships is back on.
Israel had been calling the planned move "a provocation" and from a naval perspective it made little sense sending a lone frigate into potentially harm's way given Israel's past record of attacking vessels in international waters, such as the attack on the USS Liberty in 1967 and the attack on the MV Mavi Marmara in 2010.

Even if the ships are denied permission to transit via Suez it would be no surprise as the new Egyptian military officers led by 73 year old general Tonto (Tantawi) are US/Zionist installed puppets. In the US controlled militaries of Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan etc., all officers above the rank of Major are hand chosen by the Pentagon and CIA vetting process. The Egyptian military since 1977 has been totally enslaved by the US which even controls the minor daily rations and fuel allocation, let alone spares and ammo. The Egyptian public has been duped again. Egypt needs to FREE and regain its honour.
Egyptian military stalling on Iranian ship transit via Suez
Defense Ministry to decide on passage of Iranian naval frigate Alvand and supply ship Kharq.
Ahmed al-Manakhly, a senior Suez Canal official, said international agreements regulate the traffic through the canal. He said that only in the case of war with Egypt may vessels be denied transit through the waterway.
Al-Manakhly noted that Iran and Egypt are not at war, and said the final decision on whether to grant the vessels' passage lies with the Defense Ministry.
He said he will not allow any warships to transit the canal without approval from the Defense Ministry.
