He was speaking after Obama's new nuclear plan that included Iran along with North Korea as countries that could warrant US nuclear strikes in the event of a war.
Firouzabadi also stated that US economic problems would skyrocket as a result of an attack:
"If the US seriously threatens Iran and takes an action against Iran, the threats against it will become a thousand times more, its economic problems will increase and it will lose more markets."
If the rise of the price of a barrel of oil to a record $100 a barrel following the standoff between the IRGC speedboats and US Navy destroyers on the Strait of Hormuz in January 2008 is something to go on, such actions by Iran would indeed be fatal to the US economy and the worlds oil market.

Unfortunately, even the American threats and coercion efforts are themselves predictable, given Dennis Ross’s published “blueprint” of an insincere engagement designed only to recruit further support for such.
And right on cue, sanction talk kicked off today. Additional levers of economic warfare to be directed against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Once passed, expect the IRGC to turn up the heat a bit in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
And so it goes, barring any sincere US engagement policy, comparable to Nixon in China, 1972.
(If the US had accepted Iran's negotiated bargain of a LEU exchange on Iranian soil, think how far that deal would have progressed by now. The Iranians had legitimate concerns about the swap. Correspondingly, what were the US concerns about having a simultaneous swap? That a bomb would be built by now? Ridiculous.)
