What a farce!

LOL...Priceless...

I know a lot of British apologists on this Blog will feel sad about this latest incident... I hope they also know majority of Iranians want absolutely nothing to do with the old crafty fox having an embassy in Tehran and openly calling for attacks and even colluding with Iran's enemies to harm innocent Iranians - except the inopportune few who'll sell their entire family to make a quick quid...

Unknown said...

That a nice reflection of the regime's megalomania.
With this degree of disconnect with reality! It's hard to imagine how the regime would yield to the will of the people peacefully.

A better cartoon, should have shown Iran shooting itself in the foot!

Is the one person who keeps posting anti-Iran comments here religiously being paid by an organization? Or is there something amiss with his neurons?

Anonymous said...

Anon 10:16 AM

The only people amiss with their neurons are the ones that organized that stunt outside the British Embassy in Tehran.
And when it comes to being religiously paid well we know that the basij thugs are paid handsomely to club stab and kill Iranian protesters for simply wanting the mullah regime to drop dead.

Is this the best argument you can come up with in defense of a regime hell bent on ruining Iran and Iranians?
Just because the cyber basij is being paid by the govnment doesnt mean the rest of us have to be paid to attack a regime worth attacking.
I wish you could have the courage to come of the shows and say something meaningful to contribute to this discussion.

Most elements in the Islamic regime have noticed that it was a costly mistake to carry out that attack on the British embassy.Only the halfwits think it was a success.Islamic regime will find to its cost that the civilized world will no longer tolerate a barbaric messianic entity armed with nuclear weapons threatening the world in the 21 century.

lol, brilliant cartoon, and good riddance! captures the essential spirit of the moment as all great cartoons should.

Disgraceful. An embassy is like a persons home. The Basiji and Hesbullahi acted like common criminals (which they are). They are the stone in the Iranians shoe and will be soon sent back to Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon or Arabia where they came from.

As one of world's premire sponsors of State level terrorism, the Iranian regime will be disassembled... Iranian citizens who remain hitched to that train will be pulled into ruin. Step off of that train to Hell before it is too late.

Young kids today probably have no clue how powerful England was just 50 years ago. 100 years ago they were the indisputable rulers of the world. 50 years ago they were still a superpower.

Now they're inconsequential.

Anon 5:47 PM

"Now they're inconsequential".

Believe me Britain is not inconsequential when Mrs Thatcher said "we draw the line in the sand" against Iraq the Americans joined the British and tamed Saddam and 12 years later destroyed him.The British might have a small army but they have the ability to convince and join the US in a combined and unstoppable political and if necessary military campaign to put down any country barring Russia or China.
Be warned be very warned these people will have their way if they so wish and neither Russia nor China will come to the Islamic governments rescue.

The Realist.

Reminds me of something you might have seen in Nazi Germany before the allies annihilated Hitler.

And that's why Iran is racing to acquire a nuclear deterrent so that it won't have to rely on Russia and China to come to the Islamic government's rescue.

North Korea was smart enough to go down the nuclear path.

(Note that I'm a different Anon from Anon 5:47 PM)

Britain deserved it . While Britain talks about "Military option" against a country it hopes that the people in that country will fall for their propaganda about how their Islamic government "torture them, oppress them and kill them". I would agree that the best option for Iran would be a democratic one. But everyone knows what happened to democratic ,secular Mosaddegh and everyone knows that it will happen again , so Iran does not have any other choice(for now) but accept the Islamic government or its oil fields being donated to BP / Axxon Mobil /Chevron .

Anonymous said...

Britain can't talk to the Iranians about "how their government oppress them" and simultaneously expect Iranian security agency to oppress/throw tear shells/shoot Iranian students to protect their embassy .What a hypocrite , even the clown leeches during the "colonization period" would have been ashamed .

Anon 7:11 AM

There is an option and the first option is to kick the mullahs out of social interference and politics for good!
And yes the mullahs have given away Iranian oil to Chinese companies in return for bartered rubbish. Also Qatar is stealing Iranian gas from the PARS gas fields and their airlines are allowed to dominate our local airspace.Caspian sea has become 8 per cent instead of 50 per cent and you say we have no option you comedian.

Iranians know colonization started by Omar's mob when they invaded our lands in the name of Allah over 1400 years ago and still these leeches persist to claim that they are the rightful heirs to Iran.

Dear anon:
At the risk of appearing to defend the dicatorship of Iran, I must disagree with your above comment.
Just as the conversion of Emperor Constantine in 312 AC to Christianity has nothing to do with European dark ages that followed centuries later, the conversion of Iran to Islam In the 14th century has nothing to do with iran's dark ages now.
In fact, your statement is a good example of the shah's views that basically demeaned his people's religious beliefs, eventually leading to the 1979 revolution.
This problems of Iran today has nothing to do with what religion they chose in the 14th century or what the Arab did to the poor Iranians. We should get out this selfpitty mode and stop looking to the past for the future.
The problem in Iran today lies in the fact that we have a dicatorship that happens to use religion to oppress the people.
Democracy is the answer, not the Muslim version of the anti-Christ.

"In fact, your statement is a good example of the shah's views that basically demeaned his peoples religious beliefs, eventually leading to the 1979 revolution."

Although I support some of your views concerning the system that Iran has in place at this moment in time. Why you get all insulted when I mentioned the Islamic invasion of Iran and its consequences.

Contrary to what you said about the Shah. He didn't demean his peoples religious beliefs in fact supported the religious establishment in Iran and unfortunately helped cultivate the mullahs by giving money and helping to build more mosques not to forget that he was a religious man unlike his father Reza Shah.

Democracy will never happen in Iran as long as Islam is the main fountain of belief because Islam is against the principles of Democracy which is individuality freedom of not to worship or to worship what ever religion or belief one has.The concept of democracy and Islam is like oil and water they just don't mix.

The mullahs represent Islam if they don't then who does? And the mullahs are against anything that challenges their snug money earning warped ideology (Islam) and democracy is one of them.

So you can't say that it's not Islam at fault because that is nonsense it is the concept in Islamic teachings at fault.
You must choose one or the other because both can't co-exist.To do so would be fallacy.

Those words are my views and my view is that for 1400 years "self pity "(as you claim) was introduced into Iranian culture no less than the mullahs themselves because it suited their purpose for the Iranian people to wail and live in monthly misery day in day out. Before Islam most of Iran's celebrations was a happy affair after Islam it's complete opposite.

So to sum it up I'm against Islam interfering into our daily lives and also against Islam interfering into politics they the mullahs will have to except this or else the consequences will not be to their advantage.

And another thing democracy doesn't come cheap if you think that democracy comes without bloodshed you are sadly mistaken and also if you think the mullahs will let you have democracy without standing in your way think again and imagine the consequences.I leave the rest to your imagination.

Regards.

To Jabbar Fazeli
The Shah may have had his faults but Iran was no Holland and I agree with the other Anon 4:43pm the Shah was a religious man and tried to work in a backward society and keep Iran in harmony. The politics reflects its society and Iran was an agricultural society until the Pahlavi governments took it into the industrial age in less than 20 years something that taken Europe 200 years and that was not on as far as the mullahs were concerned because they had lost their power base and that caused resentment towards the Pahlavi governments.
As far as I'm concerned I agree 100 per cent with Anon 4:33 pm and say that Islam should be eradicated out of peoples minds for good as a force of reason and replaced with proper logical and scientific reasoning therefore Islam will no longer have a role to play in Iran's future just like Christianity has no major part in European society.

Let's consider the following:

1. Most Iranians consider shiia Islam to be part of their heritage even when hey happen to be non-religious.
Some evidence of that can be seen in:

-the million of dollars still making their way to the the religious seminaries, including that of the late montazari, still popular even after his death.
- the most famous shajarian song (shajarian as you know is the most popular classic Persian singer in Iran, and he happens to be a dissident. The government can dare arrest the leaders of the green party, but mr. Shajarian is still free to travel abroad to conduct concerts and grant interviews) on YouTube and among common Iranians is actually an arabic prayer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jLrvv-F2JY&feature=youtube_gdata_player

-even ethicist bodybuilders and wrestlers in Iran utter the name "Ali", the shiia saint, every time they lift something heavy, as a matter of routine, not religious conviction.
-we still name our children with names like Hussein, and Mohammad, etc. far more often than some ancient person names, even if we never step foot in a mosque.
-thousands of Iranian pilgrims visit the shiia holy sites in Iraq despite the enormous risk to their lives. They continue their journey every year knowing full well that they can be killed by terrorists bombs at any moment. Many lost their lives this week in central Iraq. The majority of these pilgrims are true believers and not basij.

2. Turkey was established based on secular principles not dissimilar to those of the shah's, yet it's people nce given a chance continue to elect Islamists to government. This is proof that even determined secularist, like Ataturk, can't erase traditions by simply willing it. Having said that, turkey's safeguard from being turned into a heocracy is its secular constituation. Such constitution is useful to protect any government from the overt influence of religion qnd those who seek to abuse their religious influence.
There is no question that Iran will have such constitution one day.

3.The shah of Iran may have been a nice person for those who knew him better, but my memory of him is that he fled Iran leaving behind his personal guards to face the firing squads, while knowing all along that he was suffering from terminal lymphoma and was dying anyway.
Im sure many iranians would have a differenet view of him had he stayed and faced his enemies like a true king.

4. Even Europe and the USA are subject to people's religious sympathies. Germany's rolling party is called the Christian democrats, and the united states dollar bills still have the words "in God we trust"

5. Democracy means one person one vote,. Any future political parties n Iran will keep that in mind before insulting the average man and woman's religious heritage. Let's just hope that when the Islamists come to power they don't use the democratic processs to creat a theocratic dicatorship. My feeling is that Iranians would never allow that to happen again, regardless of how much they happen to love hussein or Ali.

Answer to your number 3:

What did you want the Shah to do?
Kill himself or the people so that he can hand over power to his son or give himself up to the mob?
None of the above. He did the right thing and left Iran without causing bloodshed because the Islamist and communists and other ists wanted more blood to glorify their so called revolution.
Even that Khomeini wanted more blood claiming is good for Islam.

Answer to Number 2 and 5:
Yes true but don't forget Iran has experienced what an Islamic dictatorship is all about unlike Turkey and other Muslim countries.
But as long you have the mullahs as they were during the Shah and now they will always interfere in politics therefore Iran must have the first reformation in Muslim history to free the country from interference by the mullahs both in religion and social politics.

Answer to Number 1:
Of course you have people who mention the name of Hussein and Ali or Mohammad me being one of them BUT I taught myself out of it by educating myself. It's a condition like washing your hands every time you touch something or convincing yourself that Jews or Christians are not clean which is not true all condition of way of thought.Human beings are creatures of habits and need to be conditioned out of those certain habits.

You mentioned songs but don't forget that there are songs out there that praise the devil and thousands of people buy those songs as well. You also mentioned names once more that is education and conditioning. You cannot go by numbers but ideas.

Regards.

Yea that's right Islam is part of our heritage and that's why we have to uncouple it and let the religious bigots and all their garbage end up in the garbage can of history.
Your bound to get gullible people who believe in that or any other nonsense and in that I agree with Anon 4:43pm.
The problem is that there are educated people out there that believe in that rubbish that is spun by the so called religious establishment and as long as that happens Iran will be a backward society and riddled with hypocrites and bigots like you have in Iran now.
Like it or not Iran will never have democracy in these type of conditions.

Dear annon et al.
It is ashame that the Iranians struggling with this regime on the inside can't have the unified support from opposition outside of Iran, since we can't even agree on the meaning of true democracy.
I would hope that the younger generation can see past old prejudices from both the left and right and seek basic freedoms as outlined in the first amendement of the united states of America which happens to represent universal freedoms we should all be seeking.

“Congress (government) shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Based on some of the comments here it seems like some would want to replace the theocratic dicatorship with a righteous dictatorship of heir own, where freedoms are restricted to those worthy of it.

Like it or not, you are stuck with Iranians as they are, just as moderates, like myself, are stuck with having to battle the extremists on both sides.

All that Iranians want is to be free to think and say what they want, practice, or not practice, any religion they want, and be allowed free elections at local and country levels.

Is that too much for the different opposition factions to agree upon?

Mr Fazeli

I would like to ask you a simple question.Do you support the Green movement and if so would it be Mousavi or any other person connected to that regime?

Unknown said...

Annon, December 6, 2011 8:24 PM

I did support the green movement at the peak of the uprising, but believe it to be dead at this point.
As far as mousavi goes, he could have been the gorbachev of Iran, but that opportunity is long past.
The leaders of the green movement held back their supporters at a crucial moment, and are either unable or unwilling to call for regime change. I can't really blame them because they know if they did so they would be labeled enemies of god, and be executed without hesitation.

It's easy for us to say they should risk everything, but we do so from a safe distance from this brutal regime.

Anonymous said...

Mr Fazeli

Mousavi never would have been the Gorbachev of Iran because the real power lies with the supreme leader.
Remember Khatamei?
Know the old English saying "Once bitten twice shy"?
How many times should the Iranian people fall for these charlatans with their tricks? Once Twice Three times maybe?
The true flag of Iran is Green White and Red with lion holding the sword and sun background not just green. That flag is the national flag of Iran which is the symbol of secularism which represents all people of different religions throughout Iran.
Under the present flag which was decided by Mr Khomeini the people of Iran are only represented by the Muslim side and deleted the other Iranians of different faiths.
I know what the Iranian people are risking and respect them for that because I know what utter savagery they are up against.
You must understand that everybody is different in faith and belief and in a country like Iran we cannot allow a minority of people who claim to represent the faith ride roughshod over the nation using religion as a wiping tool and oppressing the people and the minorities of different religions and very importantly women.
When this regime goes (which no doubt it will) we must sit down and decide on the whole social and religious structure of the nation and redraw the the laws and moral codes and education of the nation for the future.
This is a once in a life time opportunity and only happens every 1000 years the time has arrived.
