New Gas Field to Change Region Energy Balance - Ahmadinejad

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in Tehran today that a newly discovered natural gas field in the Caspian Sea will change the “energy and political balance” of the region.

“The reserves of new gas field discovered in the Caspian Sea are about 50 trillion cubic feet and can meet domestic consumption demand for 10 years,” Ahmadinejad said [IRNA, 12 December].

Iran announced on Sunday that it has discovered the gas field in its territorial waters of the Caspian Sea. The Ministry of Oil said that Iranian companies will carry out the drilling work on the field. Iran produced 138 billion cubic meters of gas last year. The country has the world’s second largest natural gas reserves after Russia.

Until this regime exists with their isolationist policies no country will invest in any of its major developments. It wouldn't matter if Iran is sitting on an gas and oil field the size of the Pacific ocean.
Right now tiny Qatar with it's small population is the major exporter from the middle east.

Heard the latest news they took ammunition into a steel mill in Isfahan and caused an explosion. Several workers have been killed.
It's true this entire regime consists of and is supported by morons.

That's right the country has the worlds second reserves of gas but being managed by the worlds most backward and corrupt leadership.
Iran still imports gas from central Asia and still have not even managed the present gas extraction let alone future fields.
These people are laughable with their daily propaganda and lies.
They with their rubbish need to go back to their mosques and do the only thing they're supposedly good at and that is daily prayers.
Because they will be needing soon.

Ahmadinejad said.....That explains it because Ahmaqinejad with his smelly socks said so!

Some people are so ignorant.

Iran imports gas from Central Asia for a very good reason. To become an energy corridor. You import gas from Central Asia and build all of the necessary pipelines, then you export that gas through you as opposed to through someone else.

Ali,
There are very enthusiastic AIPAC/MKO types who comment here. Don't worry about it.

That's right Mr Apologist some people are very ignorant.
It shows by the way they reply in their posts when they lunch personal attacks which reflects their lack of manners and education. And that sums up the typical type of people that support that Islamic regime, rude and ill mannered.

Iran will never repeat never be able to export its huge reserves of gas or even able to invest in its infrastructure until this regime is liquidated.
The rest is just nonsense.

Your logic borders on the insane. You said import gas first then build pipe lines afterwards and then we export.
Twenty years ago Qatar wasn't even known and now they have become a major gas exporter. You know why?
Because the world is willing to invest in Qatar.Unlike in insanely run Islamic republic with its bigoted and negative policies.
So stop defending a misguided government with their crazy misguided and downright stupid policies.
Note:Qatar also was given the Air codes by the Islamic regime so that Qatari Airways can operate as a local airline over Iran's skies.
Not only our local airlines are struggling now they have to put up with a much better and modern airline. Put that in your logic.

The problem is mismanagement in the oil/gas industry, having nepotism instead of hiring and promotion based on qualification, and low salaries for those with most knowledge. All these cause many oil/gas and chemical/mechanical/electrical engineers leave the country to Turkey or any of the Persian Gulf states and getting paid several times of the same job they held currently in Iran. On top of these, if you dare to criticize your supervisor and dare to say anything negative, no matter how constructive, you will be labeled as anti "velyat Fagheeh" and loose your job or even worse...

Your right I forgot to mention that as well.Crudely put Ass kissing!

Ali~~~~Iranian territory is not going to be chosen as a transshipment route given the circumstances of world opposition to the Iranian regime.

Investors will find it prudent, and ultimately less expensive, to route and operate pipelines elsewhere.

Iran is already producing 220 million tons of gas a year that is 50% of EU production which is 500 million people compared to 75 million in Iran. All this under sanctions Iran is able to produce some top equipment too, like rigs, boring equipment, pipelines. Iran in last 5 years simply excels in many fields and 2012 will be really fruitful. No more gas, petrol, diesel imports and production of cement, steel, aluminum, copper, LPG, cars, etc is ramping up fast.

Only thing Iran is producing under the Islamic regime is total BS.

It is obviously, indeed, one more new 'gift' from the 'Creator' for the mighty Islamic Republic of Iran, the sole sovereign nation among all muslims nations and countries in the world that fully free, liberate, independant, self-reliant, smart, genius, militarily, strong and powerful, and stand on its own feet from those damn bloody weird and disgusting doctrines and influences of those U.S., Israel, the west and the Allies' evils, arrogants, corrupts, bullies, terrors, zionism, colonialism and dictatorship, which have been continuously practiced across the globe.

The U.S. has been shamely made a slave to serve for its master, the Zionist Regime of Israel, the world's most paranoid and coward nation with the hugh strong supports and back ups of the U.S. The west, the Allies and some coward muslim nations are those shamely U.S-made lackeys that blindly follow all U.S's instructions, orders, commands and directions. The rest of those coward muslim nation leaders are made slaves and fool playing tools by the U.S. What big shame!

We don't own the world.
