Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said today Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons. Khamenei made his comments in front of military commanders gathered for the launch of a new domestically built destroyer.

Although I personally believe that there is no nuclear weapons program in Iran, Khamenei has destroyed his credibility so much by siding with Ahmadinejad, instead of being the traditional 'arbiter.' Khamenei congradulated Ahmadinejad's "victory" within hours of the polls closing, even though legally the results were not even final until being approved by the Guardian Council and then declared open season on anyone who disputed the results and rejected repeated opposition calls for an independent investigation.
He seems largely detached from the realities of Iranian society and surrounded by people who give him the reports that he likes to hear.
Question now is: How believable is he in any of his pronouncements? He says nuclear weapons are against Islam. This is true. But also banned in Islam are cheating, breach of trust, lies, slander, torture, murder and rape, all of which have been taking place under his watch.
So, how much CREDIBILITY does he have? By squandering his credibility on Ahmadinejad, Khamenei has gravely harmed Iran's standing in the nuclear standoff.
Khamenei the MSM in the west has brainwashed most citizens to believe that Iran has/wants the bomb. So anything you say is not worth the breath you use.
