Iran and Iraq exchange war dead

Iran today has handed over the remains of nine Iraqi soldiers, after Iraq gave the bodies of seven soldiers to Iran on Tuesday, this is the first time both sides have exchanged soldiers since Saddam was ousted from power back in 2003.

An estimated million people were killed during the two wars between Iran and Iraq from 1980 to 1988.

Iran's official reports suggest at least 8,000 Iranians are unaccounted for following over twenty years since the ceasefire in August 1988 bought the war to an end.

This is great development. The two nations should put the horrible memories of the war behind them. Exchanging the bodies of the fallen is an important step.
