The National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian
Majlis drafted a bill today calling on the government to stop oil tankers from
shipping crude through the Strait of Hormuz to countries that support sanctions
against Iran.
"There is a bill prepared in the National Security Committee (of Majlis) that requires the blocking of oil tanker traffic carrying oil to countries that have sanctioned Iran," Iranian MP and committee member Ebrahim Agha-Mohammadi said. "This bill has been developed as an answer to the European Union's oil sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran." (IRNA, 2 July)

began.

If the cowardly U.S. and all its lackey allies could, why can't Iran?
What a joke!
The Tavileh voted against exporting oil to the EU.
Then why didn't they do this two years ago when no sanctions were in place? LOL!!!
Posturing succeeded in capping a Brent Crude Oil price loss to a little over a dollar, past earlier sizable gains.
the IRGC will disrupt strait of hormuz....when the time is right.Right now might not be the time, but from the way things are going, that "time" will be here soon and it WILL happen. Iran didn't prepare its military to only practice shutting down SOH for no real practical purpose. The oil embargo is an unwise move from EU because they are in lethal financial crisis and this doesn't make it any better.THe EU and US are basically too broke to fight a war.
Don’t you agree with the closure of the Strait will not be in the national interest of Iran? After all that’s the only way Iran exports its own oil.
Mark got it right that the posturing is to raise the price of oil (presumably to export it and make more per barrel, closure of Hormuz doesn’t lead to that result!), also for internal political reasons.
Closure of Hormuz will be lethal for the country, and I am sure the senior leaders know that and are realist and rational enough not to fall for their own propaganda.
Kemjika.....Iran is the one that is broke under the Islamic theocracy not the US and EU! LOL!!!
I think these guys want a full blown war with west and we know for sure what will happen. The history is being repeated just like Iraq. when the west has destroyed the country they will accept all of their terms.
You will see the infrastructure , military everything will be gone, the 3 islands will be lost to the Arabs, and people will suffer for like hell just these guys can run the country.... what a shame!
Wait, are they saying they'll block ALL tankers or just ones with Iranian oil? That's a big difference.

I don't know if the majlis knows, but that would be a violation of international maritime lawq and would invite western action to secure the straight of Hormuz and the Persian gulf as a whole. Maybe they don't!
The time has come for the strong and capable Iranian military to kick some fat yankee ass!!!
Ha Ha Ha!!
Some shepishoo mullah lovers think a few missiles and boats will scare a navy away which has been at war since world war 2.
Go and pedal your propaganda to the minority of village idiots that support the mullahcracy.

The only fat asses are the ones sitting in Qom that need some serious kicking! LOL!
