Ahmadinejad: “We Will Produce 20% Fuel and Whatever Else We Want"

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said today in Isfahan that Iran wanted to acquire 20 percent-enriched uranium through IAEA, but did not succeed due to IAEA’s conditions.

“We asked for 20-percent fuel, they didn’t provide it, and we said you could go your way, and we would go ours,” said Ahmaidenejad. “The Iranian nation will produce the 20-percent enriched uranium fuel and whatever else it wants” [IRNA, 2 December]. Ahmadinejad did not expand on whatever else was it that Iran wanted to achieve.

Referring to IAEA’s censure of Iran, Ahmadinejad said that he is not scared even if all of them [Russia, China and the West] are united.

“The Iranian nation is not scared of them, even if all of them are now united,” Ahmadinejad said. “They have stuck their heads in the sand and they believe the world would think the way they desire them to think.”

Ahmadinejad compard the Islamic Republic with the West as a comparison between the believers and non-believers. Ahmadinejad said the believers are “connected to the heavens through the ropes of imam and velayat faghih.” The Iranian president concluded that believers are guaranteed eternal survival while non-believers would surely perish. As such, the Iranian president said the country will be the victor in its struggle against the West.
