Iran protested to the UN on Saturday over a warning by Shaul Mofaz, Israeli deputy prime minister, that it faces military attack over its nuclear program.
"Other options are disappearing. The sanctions are not effective. There will be no alternative but to attack Iran in order to stop the Iranian nuclear program," Mofaz had warned on Friday.
Israeli officials today slammed Mofaz for his statement, accusing him of using the issue for domestic political ends.
Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai called Mofaz's comments, "Cynical use of central strategic issues for internal political reasons."
