Rebels Free Kidnapped Japanese Tourist: Iran

A 23-year old Japanese tourist who was abducted last October in Iranian Baluchistan has been freed by his captors. Iran’s Intelligence Ministry today made the announcement in Tehran. The abductors were identified by Iranian authorities as bandits. The Baluchistan region has become notorious not only for clashes between security forces and drug smugglers, but also for anti-government rebel activities.
