Iranian officials say they will unblock access to Google search engine and its Gmail email service. Both services were filtered on Sunday. Earlier today, Hamid Shahriari, a spokesman for Iran’s National Council of Information, had confirmed that the sites were being filtered.
The Iranian government closely controls the Internet access. The officials said this afternoon that blocking of Google was by accident.
