Iran to Offer Compromise Solution on Nuclear Standoff

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said today in Tehran that Iran plans to offer a package of solutions on the country’s nuclear standoff with the West to the permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany (the so-called 5+1 group) which are scheduled to meet on Wednesday in Shanghai to discuss Iran’s nuclear program.

During a news conference with the visiting Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alberto Romulo, Mottaki strongly hinted that Iran’s proposal would narrow the gap with the West on the nuclear issue.
