In the past couple of weeks, the war with
Iran has become the focus of an unprecedented public debate in Israel, and
covered extensively in the press. Here we reprint two perspectives that have
appeared in Ma’ariv this week. In the first piece, Ben Dror Yemini argues
against appeasement of Iranian leadership, believing it would actually
intensify the winds of war. In the second, Ofer Shelah examines the
misconceptions surrounding U.S. willingness to go to war in support of an
Israeli attack against Iran’s nuclear program.
