Iranian regimes forces shoot teenager dead in his home

Security forces belong to the Iranian regime shot dead a 15-year-old boy named Morteza Soveidi in his home in the south-eastern city of Ahvaz on April 12.

The Iranian regime has deemed homes of the Arab minority in Ahvaz to be 'illegally built' and is accordingly flattening these homes in the largely impoverished district under the pretext that they were built without official permission.

This comes mere weeks after a crackdown on farmers in Isfahan who were protesting against water shortages that came after the Revolutionary Guards cut off their water supply through their building of dams in the Zayande-Rud River.

The Islamic Republic has for years pursued a policy of diverting water from water rich areas to distant cities to make up for water shortage in more arid areas.

The Government is diverting water from "Azande rood and Karoon" in vast and ill conceived grand water projects which impact farmers and local echo systems.

Farmers from the province of Isfahan clashed with police on Wednesday after 40 days of protest over water diversion to Yazd. An unknown number of protesters was injured (1,2).
