Karoun 4 Power Plant Generates 10% of Hydroelectric Output

The 1000-MW Karoun 4 power plant since the beginning of its operation in March 2011 has generated 3.2 million megawatt-hours of electricity, accounting for 10 percent of Iran’s total hydroelectric energy output, said Hassan Eta’ati, the plant’s general manager. (Fars News Agency, 13 July)
Karun 4 power plant includes four units of 250 MW with the annual power production of 2,107 GWH. The plant is located in Iran's Southwestern Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, 180 kilometers Southwest of the provincial capital city of Shahr-e-Kord.
