Iran’s UN Ambassador: Iran Ready to Counter Any Pre-Emptive Strikes

Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations Mohammad Khazaei warned the West that any aggression against the Islamic Republic would be swiftly met with “appropriate action.”

“Iran would not hesitate to act in self-defense and respond to any attacks on its territories,” Khazaei said in a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday [IRNA, 10 September].

Khazaei lashed out at the "inflammatory remarks and baseless allegations" made recently by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its deep concern over such remarks, and strongly condemns the provocative, unjustifiable and irresponsible comments,” Iran’s UN envoy said.

Sarkozy has warned that Iran was attempting to build long-range missiles and nuclear weapons, which could lead to pre-emptive attacks against the country.

Iran is for Iranians be it Muslim Christian Jew Zoroastrian etc.

No country is a fortress especially in the 21st century and Iran in particular stop talking nonsense.

They have already formed an alliance in case you didn't know and Iran can't fight the whole world to think otherwise is completely idiotic.

  3. Iran could not successfully defend itself against strikes from France, and the UK is stronger than France, and only an idiot would think that Iran would have the chance of a snowball in hell against the US.

  4. in reply to ANON 1-Iran is for Iranians!!

It is good news and encouraging that you are starting to see some light about your motherland.
-IF YOU ARE SINCERE- WITH THAT CONVICTION 'Iran is for Iranians ' Then why do you was your dirty Iranian linen in public!
-Why don't you translate those words in actions and stop cursing mocking, shaming,Name calling your leaders and instead engage in a positive, constructive criticism.
-Instead of throwing dirt to your motherland from a far and foreign country, why don't you team up together and write down your visions and views and arrange to see your LEADER and present him with your views which i believe might be very useful to the Him and the NATION at large.
-And why do you side with your enemy against your motherland?
-Even in Britain, there are some, though few who are not at home with the Monarchy and they see the QUEEN AS A PARASITE .however the majority understand that SHE must always be there -as a symbol of identity and as a bond to hold the British together.they realize that the advantages of the ROYAL family outweighs the disadvantages - Do you have such outlook concerning your LEADER?.
-TRY TO FIGURE THIS example-a lion goes out hunting for food.deep there She encounters two Zebras fighting out ferociously among themselves .so fierce is their fight such that they seemingly ignore the presence of the Lion.what do you think the lion will do? Now translate this to the political squabbling in Your country.what do you expect your enemies to do upon seeing you tearing one another inside your own country!.
-SO BROTHER I AGREE.IRAN IS FOR IRANIANS, BUT DARE NOT BREAK YOUR OWN HOUSE WITH YOUR OWN HANDS.MIND YOU EVERY COUNTRY HAS ITS OWN DIRTY LINEN TO WASH!!.

  6. Agreed with both Anon September 9, 2011 6:37 PM and September 9, 2011 10:37 PM.

Iran has difficulty dealing with few PJAK terrorists. What chance does it have to deal with Western powers. The only people that believe Iran has any chance against these powers are the ones that play video games and believe whatever they read like that guy that calls himself BMA. Used to have a longer name but decided to reinvent himself.

All the cursing mocking shaming and dirt throwing at that despotic theocracy will still not be enough.

Their only remedy is a nice heavy kick up the backside of Khamenei and company to send them back into that deep well that they came out from and for the likes of them to never return again to ruin our country.

the comments remain bone-ignorant and worse.

how the heck can anyone think that opposing an awful regime is akin to breaking the nation?

a foolish comment such as that equates to submitting to anyone who holds power and never seeking anything better than a government that prefers killing the citizens to allowing them their rights.
