Iran Anti-Drug Campaign

Iran said its security forces have dismantled more than a hundred drug gangs during last month alone. Hamid Reza Hosseinabadi, the director of Iran's anti-drug force, said today that more than two tons of heroin, 18.5 tons of opium, 800 kilograms of hashish and 133 kilograms of morphine were seized within the first Iranian calendar month of Farvardin (March 21-April 20). 18,599 people have been arrested in the same period for dealing in drugs.
