Iran Releases Seized Cargo Ship

Iran has released the Maersk Tigris, a container ship it seized in the Strait of Hormuz last week. Marzieh Afkham, the spokeswoman for the Iranian foreign ministry, said the Maersk Tigris had “left Iranian territorial waters.” (ISNA/BBC, 7 May)

The Marshall Islands-flagged vessel was intercepted by IRGC Navy patrol boats on 28 April.

  1. they seized it and invented a reason...and they released it because the had no reason other than to try to intimidate people and pretend to their own population that they hadn't been humiliated in Yemen..... having their ships have to turn tail.

  2. Uskowi sorry about the change of subject. Have you heard what the security forces have done to our downtrodden teachers outside that so called parliament? These people go and demonstrate for their rights in a civilized way and then they are set upon by wild animals.
