Iran Envoy House in Sanaa Attacked

Car Bomb Kills Two, Damages Buildings
A car bomb, reportedly planted by Al Qaeda militants in Yemen, exploded outside the official residence of the Iranian ambassador to Yemen, killing two people, and damaging the residence and buildings nearby. (AP, 3 December)

The ambassador, Hossein Niknam, was not at home when the bomb exploded at the residence in Sanaa, Yemeni capital. A security guard and his son were killed. The blast punched a hole into the residence and heavily damaged several nearby buildings.

Sunni militants regard Iran as their enemy in Yemen, having armed and helped the Huthis to take power in Sanaa.
