Iran Jailed My Friends – Anthony Bourdain

“These people I interviewed in Iran clearly loved the country. So why did it put them in jail?”
Anthony Bourdain, host of CNN’s “Parts Unknown” and author of “Kitchen Confidential,” tells the story of his recent reporting from Iran, where he met Washington Post’s Jason Rezaian and his wife, Yeganeh Salehi.

  1. I read this earlier today.

It's important we keep an open mind during this period of uncertainty. It must be remembered that many of the same things were said of Roxana Saberi, where it was subsequently revealed she was found in possession of a classified Iranian national security document.

That said, I'm hopeful this or something similar is not the case with Jason and his wife, and that they'll soon be released.

    1. Mark, Iran's Judiciary and intelligence will do all they can to create a "file" for them, if they want to, showing they broke laws or any other serious charges. We've seen this movie before, haven't we? Our concern need to be with Rezaian and the other two journalists who have become the latest victims of a reactionary Judicial system. And yes, let's hope they'll soon be released.
