  1. good idea, the IKA may the single International Airport in the world without a Airport Hotel.

  2. It was time to construct a hotel there, I was ashamed seeing foreign friends giving comments about the airport and its surrounding...it also needs some kind of express shuttle-train to and from Tehran center.

  3. face it.... the name Khomeini simply doesn't belong together with international and hospitality.

the dead guy was dour, dogmatic, unforgiving and unwelcoming

  4. Giving the location of the airport, who wants to stay in the "middle of nowhere" unless it is the night before your departure. It is far from Central Tehran. The traffic will put off anyone staying there (if they want to commute) unless there is an express shuttle train as Annon. May 27 2014 12:19 already has mentioned.

  5. Most airports are out in the middle of nowhere. Chicago O'hare is a good 40 minutes away from downtown Chicago or the "loop", LAX is out in the ghetto just hotels and strip clubs ( a agood 30 minutes away, if there is no traffic from all he fun parts of LA), and JFK is in Linden Queens about a 40-60 minute cab ride to Brooklyn or Manhattan. Airports are huge, it doesnt make sense to build them smack dab in the middle of a city's center

  6. Emam Khomeini Airport could have become an important and beautiful airport not only in Iran but also internationally. Unfortunately it did not happen and I do not understand why. I do not know the impact of the unfair imposed embargo by US and western countries, but I am sure they have been able to build much better airport than what we see today. This airport is not compareable with other airports in the region such as Dubai, Sharje, Doha, Istanbul etc. The airport is new but amazing that a lot are missing, not only shuttle, train, Hotel but unorganized parking place, only one elevator, very narrow and tight airport hall etc. Amazing that there is a bus station outside but you never know when the bus is coming. The bus coming and passying bye without stopping. I have never got that why. I feel really ashame when I see a new and very small airport in that shape and without any facilities
