Iran Not After Nuclear Weapons - Khamenei

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei today reiterated his opposition to nuclear weapons.

“We are against nuclear weapons not because of the US or other countries, but because of our beliefs,” Khamenei said. “And when we say no one should have nuclear weapons, we definitely do not pursue it ourselves either.” (IRIB/Press TV, 17 September)

Khamenei made the comments during a Tuesday meeting with the commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

  3. Of course the regime doesn't want nuclear weapons. That's why they have developed missiles to deliver flowers.

    1. Would that be instead of the zionist regime who has only developed missiles and a covert nuclear weapons programme while not joining the NPT (which Iran has) and not accepting a single nuclear inspection (while Iran has) , just to deliver flowers and all that free money from American taxpayers?

It shows that iran is serious about not developing nuclear weapons and that is why they signed the npt and continue to adhere to it despite the fact that the west has not lived up to its obligations under the npt and that iran gains nothing from it,you seem to think that because iran possess ballistic missiles that that is evidence of nuclear ambitions,I guess the saudis, the syrians and the egyptians also want the bomb as they have ballistic missile forces too,you do not need nuclear warheads for missiles to be effective

    5. Anon 8:11 PM, that means that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. zionists and Americans have no right to criticise Iran for developing missiles and nuclear power, when they have done the same and even more.

It looks like you are trying to say that because the zionist occupation and others did not join the NPT, that makes it fine for them to develop a covert nuclear weapons programme. Resort to the old, zionist and western double standards.

    6. Get your facts right! The NPT wasn't signed by this two faced regime.

    7. Get YOUR facts right, Anon 9:45 AM. It makes no difference which regime signed Iran into the NPT, Iran is still a member of it.

  4. If iran wanted the bomb it would have had a small arsenal by now,as for its missile forces just look at the amount of effort the west has had to expend on abm systems of questionable effectiveness, for iran a large ballistic missile force is a good cheap effective alternative to a manned airforce, and with those forces iran can destroy virtually any target within 2000kms of irans borders and all of that with conventional warheads
