Netanyahu Says Iran Closer to Nuclear 'Red Line'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that Iran was getting closer to the “red line” he set for its nuclear program. Netanyahu made the comments during an appearance at CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

Iran was continuing enrichment activities and building inter-continental ballistic missiles, which could give it a military nuclear capability, Netanyahu said. (Reuters, 14 July)

At the United Nations in September, Netanyahu drew a red line across a cartoon bomb to illustrate the point at which Iran will have amassed enough uranium to fuel one nuclear bomb. He said at the time Iran could reach that threshold by mid-2013.
“They haven't yet reached it but they're getting closer to it and they have to be stopped,” he said. He added the West's sanctions against Tehran needed to be intensified and backed up with the threat of a credible military option.
“I think it's important to note that we (Israel) can't allow it to happen. Our clocks are ticking at a different pace. We're closer than the United States, we're more vulnerable, and therefore we'll have to address this question of whether to stop Iran before the United States does,” Netanyahu said.

“There are many important issues that we have to deal with and I have a sense that there is no sense of urgency on Iran and yet Iran is the most important and the most urgent matter of all,” he said.

  2. It's a daunting task to knock out all of the Iranian nuclear related infrastructure. USA can do it. Israel cannot. Iran will be toast if Obama is coaxed into performing this mission. If Obama keeps refusing then all of this talk will remain just that, talk.

  3. The zionist leader has also said that Ayatollah Rouhani is a " wolf in sheep's clotching" ...

The red line drawn at the UN is no longer relevant one, because the zionist entity is under Russian red line and the Zionists may only wait and see facts immediately, after they would dare do something".

  4. The whole world has seen nutty nutanyahoo's so-called "red lines" with his cartoon bomb and laughed. He is a laughing stock and has made the zionist state one, as well.

  5. Nothing Yahoo has eaten too much ice-cream at the deadbeat US taxpayers expense. Also his fat lazy Zionist arse needed half a million dollars worth of sleeping berth on the US donated aircraft. This moron is suffering early Iran induced coma like Sharon. Both are brain dead and without a soul.

    1. This blogger through all these years has seen too many slogans offered as “analysis,” but I should admit yours almost tops all of them. What are you talking about? Or is this a standard text that needs to be offered as an analysis? I am sure the Iranian officials, unlike most of the “analysts” here, take such speeches seriously.

    2. Mr Uskowi,
I agree with you. What is your opinion / analysis about this post? I personally believe the Israelis can not do it alone and that there is an awareness in Israel as well that they can not do it alone, plus some ex military / intelligence officials saying that. Netanyahu is trying to put pressure on Obama and influence the Jewish lobby in the US and Europe for a military action against Iran. Do you think Obama will give in? Not withinn the next 6-9 months in my opinion until they have tried to "reason" with a Rohani admin.
Under any circumstances any military action against Iran should be avoided regardless of Ones political ideology or even if anyone is agains the current Theocracy in Iran. The tragic case of Syria is a clear warning to anyone wishing a regime change in Iran by force.

  6. This is just empty barking as usual. Isreal has attacked Palestine population and Syria arm storage several times without prior warning, so why must it warn and threat to attack Iran more than a dozen times without a single effort or actual shot of a single bullet. It is just a mission impossible for Isreal and even for a sole US due to her current state of economy.

  7. If the supreme leader of the great nation of IRAN had once ever said, " The U.S. can't do a damn thing.", and therefore, not to mention the world's most paranoid nation of Israel.

  8. Some zionist symphatizers of this blog, were outraged when the Supreme Leader mentioned that the Hajfa could be (destroyed in an retaliation), but they don't care that the zionist's threats can mean as well as an exposure and a genocide of the Iranian population from radiation released during destruction of the uranium enrichment facilities in Iran.

  9. “red line”?! So what? Iran clearly does not give a damn. Having already deployed their cartoon bomb, what will nutty nutanyahoo and the zionist regime do next? Drop an Acme brand anvil?
